Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Boone.
Tiffany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My musical start was within my own family as my brother, Timothy C. Boone, and I grew up as a “PK” in the church and we had to be the church! After growing up, through the development of the church, I decided to join a community choir in Macon Ga called “The Young Family” Choir. After ministering with them, I moved to Atlanta and started ministering with Kevin Lemons and Higher Calling. Kevin Lemons gave me the opportunity to lead “He’ll Work It Out” on his Declaration record. From there, Ricky Dillard reached out to me and while ministering with New G, I led “Best Day”. Now I minister with JJ Hairston and the rest is history!!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t believe anything that is worth the journey is easy, especially when you’re passionate about it! The greatest challenge for me is the struggle that happens in my own head. We are our own worst critics, but what I have found to be the most honest thing to do is to give your best in everything every time. Once you make that decision in the beginning, I believe you can be secure in knowing that God will get the Glory!
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an artist that loves to sing. In my artistry, I am very creative and free in my element. The only thing that concerns me while I am ministering is making sure that the lyrical content has been maximized to its greatest extent. Not only that but the message of Jesus in the song. Generally, everyone knows me for “slanging my hair” and I am okay with that. It is the passion in my singing that causes me to sing every time as if it’s the last time. I am proud of the journey, the platforms, and how they’ve allowed me to be myself. If anything sets me apart, it is the fact that even as an artist, I never changed from being Tiffany!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always with my family, always in church, and always happy. I was very energetic and loved being around joyous people that loved God and church. Even after church, my brother and I would visit a family that was our friends and we would eat together and watch church on television. We never got enough of it! Lol
