Meet Tiffany Brown | CEO of Exquisite Slay, LLC

Hi Tiffany, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
My name is Tiffany Brown and I’m the founder and CEO of Exquisite Slay, LLC. I started Exquisite Slay in 2020 because I was on this journey of self healing and being positive about myself and I wanted women around the world to feel the same. My goal for creating this brand and the products is to let women know that no matter what your profession is, no matter what your nationality is you are still exquisite and you can still slay.

How do you come up with the sayings for your t-shirt?
Sometimes it can be a long process, but what I found to be the most helpful is asking myself “what is the message you want to say?” Asking myself that question always helps me curate a saying because it constantly gives me insight as to why I started the brand in the first place.

What new products do you hope to launch this year or the next coming years?
I recently just did a re-launch of my pigment lipgloss and I hope to release 1 or 2 eyeshadow palettes for the beauty section. For the clothing section of the business I would like to release a few jogger sets. My goal is build Exquisite Slay to be a lifestyle brand.

What’s a product you think you launched too quickly?
The one product I think I launched too quickly was our lip scrub. I use to offer two different lip scrubs and the formula and product itself was great, but my customers were telling me there were having an issue of the oil leaking from the caps. After 3 customers let me know this I pulled the scrub from the site and I’m currently going back to the drawing board on what I can do to prevent this for the future.

Where do you see Exquisite Slay in the next five years?
In the next five years, I see Exquisite Slay in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. I see a few of our shirts in clothing stores like Macys and Target, with our beauty products in Sephora and Ulta.

Are you currently in any stores?
At the moment I’m not in any stores besides our online store.

What sets Exquisite Slay apart from the other t-shirt companies out there?
What sets Exquisite Slay apart from the other t-shirt companies is our brand message. Many t-shirt brands just create a saying with no real meaning and Exquisite Slay does the opposite. Yes, our brand is only catered to women, but we make the shirts for the different women that’s out there to let them know you are unique and special and you don’t have to fit in with the in crowd if that doesn’t go with your personality.
