Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Riggins.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Davenport, Iowa on June 28, 1983. I lived in Iowa for a few short years before my mom moved me and my two sisters Amber Taylor and Ieisha Stovall to Marietta, GA. Mom made a home in beautiful Marietta and eventually found love again, she married Matt Hazelton aspiring record producer, together they were unstoppable, opening several businesses, together they we perfect. Along came little brother Anthonee and step brother Dominique. The years went by so fast. We traveled and lived the good life. Mom and dad taught each one of us the value of a dollar, and we all carried the trait of business ownership in our blood.
After graduation, mom and step-dad(Matt) divorced and the family was divided. Myself being that I was 18 moved into my own apartment and started life on my own. Amber went to Job corps Atlanta and moved onto campus living. Dominique went in to the Army and is now stationed in Hawaii, Ieisha who was still a pre-teen was moved to Texas with mom, and Anthonee the baby boy stayed in Atlanta. Life was complicated, after that I was the oldest, I was the glue that held the siblings together whether near or far, I always was the keeper of information.
I enrolled in college and worked as the activities assistant for a long-term care facility, for a year I called bingo and planned activities, however when new positions came up in the office I was always the first person to apply. Always wanting to learn something new, and change it up. With God on my side every time, I applied and was hired. I moved from activities assistant, to receptionist, then to medical records coordinator, next staffing and supply clerk, and my final resting place was admissions coordinator. Five promotions in five years, I took notice of this in my spirit, and knew I was called for greatness. I married and had Three beautiful boys Trey 13, Tyrique 12, and Tameron 10. Life was a breeze, I was married with a beautiful home, I worked every day and just enjoyed being alive, but something still was not right, I just wanted more. So, I took a job bartending at night, and became a huge star at the restaurant, the customers loved me, the staff was proud to have a sharp bartender to look after their precious booze. But I still wanted more.
Driven more now than ever I set out on faith on a new fresh idea. Beautiful Spaces Cleaning Services with my husband, kids, family, friends and church by my side I did it, the grand opening came Nov 2013 and we were off to a great start making our first $200 thousand within the first two years. The third year there was a shift in motivation and support, running the business took a terrible toll on my marriage, Jon and I separated in Dec of 2015. While I set out to re-invent myself again. Although we were not together and I was hurt and broken I still struggled on, I moved around living with family and friends, still running the cleaning service as if nothing changed, my motivation was back and I was more driven than ever. After a year of searching, and a lot of talking and changing Jon and I became good friends, and learned to co parent easily with grace and understanding, he helped me find my home. It just happened to be the apartment downstairs. Now he and I are together as friends, and loving parents, co existing, so close together we make it work.
The business is in its 4th year running with no signs of slowing down, with talk of expansion to Virginia, Texas, Davenport, Kansas, and Arkansas. I am still standing. I think everything I’ve been through has led me to be the person I am today. I participated in a u tube commercial in 2014 for pillow Shams, I’ve spoken on two different radio stations, and I actively participate with Cobb schools and the Atlanta Housing authority volunteering my time. I would love to add acting to my already super long resume.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to success is long and always changing, loneliness defiantly exists when you are creating something new. Time becomes so precious because there is always work to be done. My biggest struggles are staffing and funding. Finding fresh reliable, trustworthy people who are willing to follow your dreams, with you can sometimes be a challenge. People like instant results, and starting something from scratch sometimes can take a while to become big, so promotions may take longer, and insurance coverage may not be offered right away certain perks big companies have that the smaller ones don’t have right out the gate. Funding can also be a challenge. Banks want stability so, give it to them. Wait it out I say. Hold two jobs and save, you don’t have to borrow to start. When the time is right, I feel the money will come. I don’t think it’s smart to create debt without knowing if your dream will be more than just that.

Beautiful Spaces Cleaning Services is my dream company. Organizing is my lifestyle. I’ve worked in business administration for ten years. I found my passion for organizing working with the elderly as an activities assistant. It was my job to organize and carry out successful, fun and energetic activities. I worked at my craft, and began listening to motivational speeches, attending seminars, and helping disorganized friends, and families. From there I developed the idea of a company of organized people. What sets apart from other services is the attitude we provide, fun, positive, humble, always willing to go the extra distance. Proud to help no matter what the task.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
