Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Shannon.
Tiffany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started playing in makeup in middle school, I always watched my mom when I was younger and grew an interest to it very quickly. As I became older, I practiced on my friends and always did their makeup for fun and soon became a hobby. When I got into high school, I took a cosmetology course and thought I wanted to do hair. After high school was over, I decided to take a year off to decide what I wanted to do. I later decided to go to Paul Mitchell and I was able to use my credits in high school towards Paul Mitchell and ended up graduating early. While I was there, I was doing hair but still doing makeup, I ended up having more makeup credits then hair at the end. After I graduated, I started working at Sephora at the mall and still doing clients. While working at Sephora, I was getting so many calls for makeup and the money that I was making at Sephora just wasn’t cutting it anymore! I made more money doing freelance in one weekend then my two weeks pay. I quit Sephora and haven’t turned back since!
Has it been a smooth road?
Noooooo!!! I’ve dealt with a lot as far as females, jealousy, people wanting to discount my services for their benefit! Being an entrepreneur and running a business is not an easy thing. It’s been plenty of times where I wanted to quit I quit a lot of times but makeup is something that’s always been a passion so I’ve never strayed too far from it.

I specialize in natural makeup and I think being able to do a natural face and making people feel good about themselves. Clients always tell me a lot of people can do makeup but it’s hard for them to make it look natural and make the person still look like themselves!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, it’s so many great places in Atlanta for makeup and just the beauty industry. Buckhead, downtown ATL, midtown, really all over.
