Meet Tina Greer of Greer Business Solutions in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Greer.

Tina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always wanted to have a career in business, but I did not know what industry I would go into. As many are told, I was told to go to school and get those “good grades” and you will land that “good” job. I was career focused and knew I wanted to climb the corporate ladder. I knew it would take hard work and having the proper education would get me there. For many, it takes four years to graduate with a bachelors; however, for me once I figured out what I wanted to major in that was a good fit for me, it took me little longer. You know when you first enter college as a freshman, you may change your major two-four times. That was me, I changed a few times; however I still enjoyed my time in school and end up majoring in Finance.

Fast forward my education allowed me to work for government contractors and as I moved up the corporate ladder, I was told that I needed more education to advance my career, so I went back to school. I took advantage of the time living abroad, my husband being in the military, afforded us opportunities that I have never experienced before. I took full advantage and went back to school and begin my graduate program. After a year living in Japan we transferred back to the states and I continued my program and graduated with a Master of Public Administration (MPA) specializing in Finance. I went back into Corporate America only to realize that it still was not enough to advance. I worked for several government contractors from mid-size to large corporations climbing the corporate ladder little by little, only to realize the ladder was attached to the wrong building. I never gave up even though I learned a lot through the positions I held and the mentors that were willing to show me and teach me what they knew to help me in my career. I always knew I had a purpose in life to teach, train, and inspire others; however, I did not know what that would look like specifically.

I love to write, I am a best-selling author, and I look forward to teaching others; showing them how to monetize their skill set. At this point, I was frustrated with Corporate America. I knew I have a bigger calling on my life and that was to teach the masses. I have always had the entrepreneurial spirit and I believe that I have the capacity to write my own check and not let someone dictate by value. Going as high as I could go with my last corporate job, they decided to let me go, you know the when they tell you your experience is valued here however you make too much money… (the short version of the story). I was ready to go but did not know how to leave. You know fear sets in and you ask yourself the question, how and I going to pay my mortgage, I have others depending on me. What am I going to do? Well, you know God has the final word and he has a plan for your life, you just have to listen. I decided to take what I know, the education, the skills, corporate job experience and teach others how to make millions. I did it for Corporate America and generated millions of dollars in revenues for others, why not take those same skills I learned over the last 20 plus years to give back and teach small business owners how to do the same.

Thus, my new business model of providing coaching and consulting services as a full-time entrepreneur teaching business owners how to find, bid, and win government contracts. I have had many satisfied clients throughout my journey and have impacted lives and bank accounts, to say the least. It is my goal to empower and train entrepreneurs and small business owner to become millionaires through my coaching programs and consultative services. I do believe as business owners if we want to grow and level-up our business, we must invest in training and development. I have been fortunate to be able to work with top executives in the government contracting industry and now I am able to teach others how to win contracts and create a sustainable financial future for their companies, impacting families, and communities for generations to come. Each one, reach one, teach one, we can all win together!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an entrepreneur is not easy. Of course, there are challenges especially when you are transitioning from having a steady paycheck being in Corporate America to now having to generate money on your own terms. Hoping to get the clients and the revenues you need to stay in business. It is not for the faint of heart. You have to persevere thru the struggles and keep on the grind through the wins and stay focused!

Greer Business Solutions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Greer Business Solutions provides coaching and consulting services to entrepreneurs and small business owners teaching them how to find, bid, and win government contracts. We accomplish this through several ways such as our signature blueprint government contracts mentoring program, our government contracts online clinics that focus on specific topics regarding the bidding and procurement process of government contracts, and the resources we provide to our members in our social media group on Facebook called The Blueprint to Winning Government Contracts. For those who want to join go to: www.facebook.com/groups/bidandwincontracts

I am most proud of my company when I can help my clients make money through the strategies I provide in reviewing their process for bidding on contracts or executing them. Also, when my clients come to me when they are struggling with decisions that can impact their bank account if they move forward in hast without proper vetting out a solution. It brings me joy to help with decisions that impact their company’s bottom line and stop money leaks.

What sets me apart from the others is that I have over 20 plus years in the government contracting industry in several positions from contracts management, business development, to the last 12 plus years pricing multi-million dollar efforts and playing a major role in generating millions of dollars of revenues for well-known government contracting companies. I love to teach, train, and inspire others through my education and work experience in order to see them grow into their greatness.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as having achieved what I set out to do. Success can mean winning a contract, gaining a new client, finding a solution to a nagging program. It also means putting a smile on someone’s face giving them reassurance that I can help them navigate through learning a new way of thinking or approach in order to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.

Some of the markers I look out for is a willingness to be proactive; willingness to be open to learning new things; tackle challenging situations and find a solution, and have the willingness to work together and define processes creating a roadmap for others to follow. In addition, success for me is being able to provide for my family and reach back and show others how to do the same.
