Meet Tina Arnold of Jewel’s Treats & More in Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Arnold of Jewel’s Treats & More.

Tina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began baking seriously about ten years ago. It’s funny how you are able to tap into the gift God gives you when you are in need. At the time, my husband and I had several children, and they were all involved in several activities. Trying to keep up with everything began to become overwhelming. I prayed and asked God to help reveal my talents so that I could earn a few dollars to make ends meet. It was my hope that those talents would be enjoyable and fulfilling.

One day, I called my oldest sister to ask if she would tag along with me to a cake decorating class. From then on, I was hooked. I even pulled Jewel, my baby girl, into this CAKE craziness with me. She inspired me to name my business “Jewel’s Treats & More.” When I tell you she can whip up some delicious sweets in a jiffy! So glad I have her by my side.

I love the art of baking and cake decorating because there is no limit to what you can do. It is always something to learn, and a new adventure is always waiting.

Along the way, I have come into contact with so many people. Those that were willing to help and some that were not; but it never stopped me from doing what God set into place JUST FOR ME! Am I in this alone? Definitely not! I have a support team that is out of this world and have been there since day 1. Some have even placed orders with me when I definitely wasn’t my best. They have given constructive criticism that I have taken, and ultimately, that made my products better. You always want to keep people in your corner that will tell you the truth.

I’ve said all this to say, Jewel’s Treats & More is here to stay. God is in everything that we do, and we pray that we get a chance to meet you and we become CAKE friends in the near future.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth ride. Everything in life has a way of teaching you Life Lessons. I sometimes struggle with have a full-time job and still trying to maintain the baking business. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and sometimes everything go just as it is planned. The one thing I will not do is quit, It’s not an option.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jewel’s Treats & More story. Tell us more about the business.
I don’t want to brag, but I can bake just about anything. Just let me try. But what keeps people coming back are my Famous Sweet Potato Pie cupcakes. I bake so many of them that I usually don’t even put them up on my page to advertise. There are certainly one of the fan’s favorites.

I am most proud of having my beautiful daughter there with me to help in the process. I’ve trained her so that she is able to make anything and can actually take so much off of me because she is skilled in the area as well.

What sets me apart from others is that I am your Friendly Baker. I want to make sure that every experience I am blessed to be apart of with you is one that you will remember forever. I want people to leave the event talking about how beautiful everything was and how delicious the cake and treats were.
