Today we’d like to introduce you to Ti’ras Tone.
Ti’ras Owensby is a musical artist born and raised in Atlanta, GA. at the age of seven, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life… music. I’ve started listening to beats and write but sadly, never recorded a song. In 5th grade, I started a group with other class mates who rap also. Every time it was recess time, it was time to perform. They always perform their songs during recess to get everything down packed for any upcoming performances or anything like that. Fast forward to 8th grade summer I was working a job at a barber shop while recording music from my phone. While working at the barber shop on bankhead I met an producer named DJ Plugg. I locked in DJ Plugg number.
Days later my friend Dewberry called me and said he found a studio that we can record at, we just had to pay gas money not the studio session. It was a blessing! I used the little money I got paid (which was only like $5-$10 if that) and use it for gas money to record and to promote my music from other local artists. We’ll be there from daytime to midnight. We recorded a song called,” luxury”. One week later DJ Plugg hosted the single on his Spinrilla which gave us the popularity we needed to kick it off. We did our first performance at the royal peacock in Atlanta, GA. That’s when I’ve finally took it, serious, in 2017 then I finally bought my home studio in 2018 that’s when I found my sound, my name & image. I’ve worked with a lot of artists, risked my money I had to buy promotions and did shows after shows. 2019 I shines as I’ve got better and caught a lot of famous rappers eyes.
Has it been a smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? no not at all. I’ve been through Backstabs, Non-Support, Overthinking, etc. I took all the Negativity and turned it to positivity, it gave me strength and taught me lessons so I thank God for it. I believe once an individual go through so much in their life it’s a promise they’ll bounce back from that and come at the top over the past destruction.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I am known for being a musical artist and a CEO of an entertainment label named “BMO BossMovesOnly Entertainment”. I am proud that all the artists; BMO Keeso, BMO Tez, Cari! , T00NT and TM8 can stand on all ten toes if things goes downhill. I’m also proud that I can put my all in this entertainment label without regretting it. What sets us apart from others is we all have totally different sounds, so we don’t stand on one genre of music. I believe that it can take us farther than others when we can touch on different bases of music.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like about my city is the talent that walks throughout the city, Atlanta has a lot of talented people that can go so far in life. What I dislike about my city is it’s a lot of hate going on, it’s too much talent walking around for people to be hating, that’s just the number one flaw in this city… if we tighten that up we could be unstoppable.
