Today we’d like to introduce you to Tirrell Stevenson.
Hi Tirrell, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Meet Tirrell Dion Stevenson: Founder of Stonecrest Mobile Notary Services and Legacy Estate Planning Solutions
I was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, on the campus of Central Michigan University, where my parents were both students. I spent most of my early years on the east side of Detroit, surrounded by family and a community that emphasized resilience, education, and self-reliance.
When I was a pre-teen, my mother made a bold career transition—from being a high school English and Drama teacher to becoming a Special Agent with the FBI. She was one of very few Black female agents in the Bureau when she graduated from the FBI Academy in 1983. Watching her determination, professionalism, and courage made a lasting impression on me. Her journey taught me that barriers are meant to be broken and that service to others is one of the highest callings.
As her career advanced, I moved often—living in Connecticut and the metro Washington, D.C. area—before joining the United States Air Force immediately after graduating high school in 1988. My time in the military shaped my work ethic, discipline, and belief that excellence begins with preparation. I later spent years as a Major Crimes Detective in Newport News, Virginia, before becoming a federal agent in 2002. I spent the remainder of my career with the federal government, retiring as a Senior Executive Service member in 2023.
I was raised by my mother to be independent, resourceful, and to focus on being of value rather than a success. That guiding principle has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to drive the work I do today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not ! I spent an entire career focused on public service. Starting my first business and being focused on marketing and promotion felt odd. I was aware of Notary Public and the profession but I was not familiar with all the details that go into bringing the level of expertise needed. I publicly thank Amber Gist of the Notary Training Hub, and my friends/colleagues/partners withing the Atlanta Chapter of the Atlanta Training Hub. From support, to training, to assistance, or shared expertise readily offered, I would not have been the success that I have been without them. We check in on each other, share opportunities to serve, share new techniques learned, and are always there to ensure we provide the best service to our communities.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Stonecrest Mobile Notary Services: Serving the Community I Call Home
After retiring from federal service, I found myself reflecting on what was next. My wife was still working, and while I was ready for a slower pace, I wasn’t ready to stop serving. I’ve always felt a deep responsibility to my community, and I wanted to remain active in a way that allowed me to help people navigate some of life’s most important moments.
That’s what inspired me to establish Stonecrest Mobile Notary Services. For me, becoming a mobile public notary was the perfect balance between semi-retirement and continuing my life’s work of public service.
Stonecrest Mobile Notary Services primarily serves Stonecrest, Stone Mountain, Conyers, Snellville, and Decatur, though I’m often called upon to assist families throughout the metro Atlanta area. I provide general notarizations, estate planning document services (including powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and wills), Apostille facilitation, and relocation-related documentation and consultations.
Every appointment is an opportunity to serve with integrity, empathy, and professionalism—values that have guided me since my early days in uniform.
Building Legacy Estate Planning Solutions (LEPS)
Over time, as I worked with families across the region, I began noticing a troubling pattern. I was getting late-night calls or urgent requests from families desperate to establish estate plans after a loved one had become unexpectedly ill or incapacitated. Too many people were waiting until it was too late, and the financial and emotional toll was heavy.
That’s what led me to establish Legacy Estate Planning Solutions (LEPS). I wanted to create an accessible, affordable estate planning platform that could help middle-class families protect their assets, ensure business continuity, and preserve generational wealth.
With my background as a licensed life insurance agent in Georgia, I understood the financial dimensions of estate planning. But I also knew that the human side—education, accessibility, and trust—was often missing from the process.
So I brought together a small team of trusted notaries and colleagues who shared my commitment to service, and we built LEPS as a one-stop, white-label estate planning platform designed for the families and communities we live in.
Through LEPS, we offer tailored, comprehensive, and affordable estate planning solutions, along with financial planning and wealth-retention strategies in partnership with The Money & Legacy Team here in Atlanta. Our mission is simple but powerful: to help families own their legacy.
What Sets Us Apart
For me—and for the notaries and professionals I collaborate with—service to the community we call home is a foundational principle. We don’t measure success by the number of documents signed, but by the peace of mind our clients feel when they leave the table knowing their affairs are in order.
Our focus is on empowerment through education. We take time to ensure every client understands what they’re signing, why it matters, and how it fits into the larger picture of protecting their family and future.
I often say, “Proud to serve the community I call home.” It’s more than a slogan—it’s the heart of everything I do.
Community and Collaboration
I believe deeply in giving back. Recently, we partnered with Stephenson Middle School PTA to support the grand opening of a new student space and to donate a laptop that will help students manage projects and school initiatives. Small acts like these remind me why community engagement matters—it’s how we build the next generation of leaders.
Through Stonecrest Mobile Notary Services and LEPS, I’ve also found new ways to collaborate with schools, churches, and local organizations to provide educational workshops on estate planning, financial literacy, and family preparedness.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Lol, I’ve already named them but I love giving them credit again. My mother and my family are always at the forefront of my mind when it comes to the drive that was instilled in me. I absolutely have to give credit to my local Notary Training Hub family, including Tora Hancock, Tomecca Brown, Kisha Foster, and Lisa Jean Baptiste, as well as Amber Gist, the Founder of the NTH and someone who has supported me in this journey from it’s start. Last but not least, my wife Lateefah, who has supported my “All go, no stop” mentality with all I do from day one.
