Meet Tisha Johnson of Royal Family Financial Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tisha Johnson.

Hi Tisha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started in December of 2005, the Friday of Christmas break. I was 13 at the time my father picked me up from school but the whole mood felt differently he usually would have his music blasting, but this particular day he was quiet. What was even more creepier is my parent’s wedding song came on and “I’ll always love you” by Whitney Huston. He instantly turnt it off. It’s was Friday so it was family night for us but once I got home my mom was quiet. The movie the March of the penguins had came on and we were about to watch the movie but then an argument started between my parents next thing I know I was trying to save my mother’s life. I wont to go any further into details right now. But the next morning, my mom was found burnt up. That day I lost both of my parents and had went to live with my Aunte, with my two younger siblings who were 4 and 8 at the time. When I moved in with my aunt, I just wasn’t the same person. I had went through a very traumatic event but my Aunte couldn’t handle my hurt and she was very young herself…..

A lot of times, I felt as though I was mistreated and certain things my mom promised me like telling me I could wear eyeliner at 13 my Aunte told me, “I was lying her sister didn’t say that”. I didn’t get any counseling and I moved to a brand new city and my story was front-page news so people knew me as the crazy girl when I first started school in Riverdale, GA. I would have nightmares of the tragedy that happened and I had a hard time trusting my aunties husband, I mean my whole life had literally changed in one night. I had issues trusting men because I was molested at age five by my cousin’s father who was a preacher. So things just weren’t going to well staying with my Aunte because she was so young at the time and had took in her sister’s kids which was the right thing and I appreciate her for that but she didn’t really know how to handle me. She had only one child at the time as well. I feared her husband because I just had this thing that all men were sick from what happened to me as a child, and one day she allowed him to whoop me. That’s when all hell struck and I ran away from home. I ran away and met the father of my boys and I would pretty much run the streets with him and I thought I was receiving the love I had been needing. Needless to say, I never came back home at least not for a full year. I would pop up and it’s crazy because every time I would pop up home, my aunt would be having a barbecue. My aunt did try to finally get my help but by that time, it was too late and I was used to being on my own.

Once I hit age 17, I got pregnant with my first son Jamal and that’s when I realized I had to do something to better myself because I was carrying my seed. I finished school at crim high school and then enrolled at Everest college, but I changed my mind about being a M.A. all I knew was I wanted to help people and to one day tell my story. Once I got pregnant with my third child, I decided to go to school for journalism because I have always wanted to be a news reporter or an actress. So I did just that. It’s a lot of details I’m leaving out because I’m in the middle of writing a book so I don’t want to expose everything just yet. But after I got my degree in Communications I was very happy but it’s not easy getting a job as a news reporter and working for people just has never been good for me, lol. So I started thinking what can I do to help my people. Then that’s when life insurance came to mind and I knew I would do it with a passion because If anyone knows life isn’t promised, I do because I lost my mom from murder, and I never expected that. So I paid to take courses and become a licensed insurance agent. I love being able to help people get life insurance and also teaching them the benefit of having life insurance because it’s not only for when you die it has living benefits as well. So many people don’t know so I started Royal family financial services to educate my people on how life insurance really works. I also offer free life coaching services. We have dental insurance, business coaching will planning and much more!! I just want to make sure that whenever my client leaves their family and children are taken care of and that generational legacy can live on.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh no, not a smooth road at all. Let’s say from age 14 until about 25, it was obstacles. At one point, I was a dancer because I couldn’t work. I hated dancing but I had to feed my kids. My boys father has been in prison since they were about three; he went to prison for conspiracy to murder so I have been raising young black boys by myself. Now my oldest son is 12 and he is what the old folk say, smelling himself, lol. But I have had to live place to place before, sleep in an abandoned home so I know the struggle but I never let the struggle make me!!

We’ve been impressed with Royal Family Financial Services LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So I do have my business in the financial industry Royal Family Financial Services where I specialize in selling insurance as well as offering other services!!

But I am also an actress and I star in a series called the betrayal that’s on a few major networks.

I’m just grateful to still be here today after everything I have been through and seen. People have always told me how strong I am family, friends and just people who know me in general. I have always been looked up to respected me and just a motivation to others.

My strength to fight through the battles that has been set out against me but I always come out a better woman is what I know the devil hates!! I am proud to be a mom and to be the woman I am today because it took time and obstacles for me to get here!! I am happy that I’m finally getting to the place in life where I will be able to help other people like I have always wanted. At one point, it seemed like nothing would ever go right in my life.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I honestly can’t name one person who has helped me with growing my business other then strangers!! This has all been done from scratch and just through faith. However, money isn’t everything on the emotional end. I have great long-time friends who are like family Jaronda and Tyshieka. They have always been here for me through all of my hardships and just believed in me and I remember Jaronda telling me a couple of years ago that my time was coming that she know I’m going to be okay. She has always just been that person I know I can call on her and trust her to keep my secrets and she is one of my biggest supporters her and my kids!!
