Meet Tiyonna Higgins of Suite 916 Event Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiyonna Higgins.

Hi Tiyonna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a proud Co-Owner of Suite 916 Event Studio. Born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ. I moved to Georgia 8 years ago with my then 18 months old daughter. Now, a mother of 3 and a full-time entrepreneur majority of my background began in the Healthcare Industry as a nursing student with a minor in business management. I supported myself through college by working in the dental field which led my corporate career for the past 14 yrs. So, if you asked me five years ago do you see yourself in the position you are today, the answer would most definitely be No. At the very beginning of the pandemic, I said enough was enough, took a leap of faith and a leave of absence from the corporate world to embark on a new journey of finding me. During that time, I dabbled in a few areas of interest but then, I was presented with the opportunity of generating passive income and the rest is history.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Personally, I have faced many obstacles and challenges to get where I am today. My biggest would be losing both parents at a very young age. At the tender age of 7 and 11, respectively my world took a shift losing my mother and then it shifted again losing my father. Feelings of abandonment often played a role as I struggled with finding support. Even back then my drive was so persistent, there was no way I could’ve neglected my true passion and allowed my situation to define me. Despite the past, I’ve always set forth for what I wanted to accomplish and my overall goal was to help people. Back then, I didn’t have the knowledge and insight I do now, so that road was focused on becoming a registered nurse. Unfortunately unable to sit for the boards, I took a leap of faith and headed to Georgia.

In 2020, I began to truly hone in on becoming an entrepreneur and once I had the opportunity to invest in myself, I found a coach/mentor and an event space was at the top of the list. Of course, the road to get here was not easy but compared to what I have already gone through I had the support needed to acquire my goal.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The name derived from the day I was born which is September 16th, I wanted to create something that I believed in and I believe Suite 916 is ‘the gift that keeps on giving’. We provide new partnerships, memories, and just an overall space not only for celebrations but for creatives and business owners for us, by us.

Going into this space, I have never imagined the amount of doors that it will began to open. Growing up, I didn’t have the luxury of celebrating my birthday, to be quite honest I can’t remember having one birthday party ever (after my 1st five years). To be able to provide a space, such as NINE – ONE -SIX, it truly feels like I am being celebrated everyday. To see the look on my client’s faces means everything to me, truly rewarding.

Not only am I able to provide a space for others, this has also opened doors and put me in a position to help others accomplish their goals.

And that is a gift that keeps on giving!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I have learned so many lessons along the way I can probably write a book. But one lesson that I have learned is always stay true to who you are, and everything else comes naturally.

But the one lesson that is in my daily mantra is to: Learn to work harder on yourself. Life gets better for you not by chance but by change. – Jim Rohn
