Toccora, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After 12 years in the medical profession, my job came to a sudden end. I told myself that will be the first and last time, I would depend on a paycheck from someone else. I decided to take my savings and invest in training for teeth whitening and non-invasive body sculpting. Keep in mind when I began my new venture, Instagram was just beginning and not a huge part of social media marketing. I had to become creative and decided to create my clients by footwork. I hit every salon, barbershops and any brick and mortar companies I came across.
With my consistency, efforts, and drive… it paid off! As of today, my company offers training, franchise opportunities, and suite rentals to business owners.
Has it been a smooth road?
“Absolutely Not!” In any life-changing event or situation, the road is never smooth. Keep in mind at the time of me choosing to start my own business, I was not sure if I would win or fail; however, nothing beats “failure” without a “try.” I would offer my services to many and many would say “No” however, after 4 “No’s,” that fifth person would say “Yes.”
The way I handle struggles or even rocky roads are by reading daily affirmations and staying consistent. Listening to motivational speakers and reading is also a great way I overcame challenges and or obstacles. I recommend reading the Poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. This is a very enlightening poem and inspiring to the inner being!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
As a native, of course, I love my city and I have way too many likes to think of. However, to name a few likes, I would definitely say Atlanta is a place that offers opportunity to anyone. With our southern hospitality and charm, you automatically feel the love of our city. The raw talents, diversity, low cost of living and vibrate quality of life sets the tone above any other place that I would call home! Traveling made easy with our International Airport just puts the cherry on top! Now, as far as what I like least about my city honestly is the traffic!
