Today we’d like to introduce you to Topnotch Zion.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am an upcoming artist in Atlanta, GA. I have my own Label named “Foreixn Music Group.” I have been taking music serious for about 6 or 7 years now. What made me start taking rap serious is when I noticed that all of my friends that I grew up with started to turn to the streets to provide for their families. So I knew that I had to find a different route for them, so in January of 2018 I decided to open up my own recording studio “The Cook Up Studio” in Dixie hills to start bringing in dividends. Since I’ve opened the studio, I have released 4 Projects and multiple singles. Currently, I am preparing to release another EP with a few big features. (Leaked 2) Music is something I have always loved and been passionate about. Hopefully, one day ill be able to live out my dream and take care of my whole family.
Please tell us about your art.
I am a rapper, and I am very particular about my music so my engineer BP usually engineers my music but I also engineer myself which alot of artist don’t know how to do. Every song I have ever recorded has been inspired by a situation that has directly or indirectly affected me. I also don’t write any of my music I freestyle all of my verses and hooks. A lot of times while im making my songs I may mess up on a few parts but keep all of my flaws in my music and I critique it. I have to also make sure that I inspire my listeners to get up and get some money and in order to make some real money you have to take a couple of risks.
What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
I think the biggest challenge is publicity or clout because it becomes addictive after a while. And the real ones ain’t doing all the extra.
