Meet Tracey Bryant Swint of Love My Womb Academy in College Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracey Bryant Swint.

Tracey, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It began in 2009 with a need to be financially independent and a desire to be my own boss. Over 15 years ago I was the owner of Honey Luv Lingerie & More “The Romance Store” in Lake Charles, Louisiana. I had created a safe place where women could come and shop for romantic goods and sexual pleasure products and not feel ashamed. Sex and sensuality are such a very real part of who we are as women, and many times we are conditioned to feel guilty and associate that guilt with our pleasure, which doesn’t feel good at all.

So I began to teach classes about the sacredness of our sexuality and sensuality and how it is our birthright. Although many women came through that cute and comfortable romance boutique, and we talked about pleasure and sexual empowerment many of the women talked about their pain, and how they couldn’t identify and allow themselves to receive pleasure due to some type of unresolved trauma. Most of the trauma came from sexual abuse of some kind.

I felt as though I wasn’t serving the women as much as I could because we didn’t deal with sexual abuse, I knew then there was a need. These women were coming to me somewhat desperate to find that sacred place of pleasure, and many times in tears.

I had earned a degree in Social Work and Human Sexuality four years before the opening of the Romance Boutique and I decided to put them to work. I went to the local Rape Crisis Outreach Center and took classes on sexual abuse, prevention, intervention and counseling. I learned that 4 out of 5 women are sexually abused in their childhood and that rape and date rape was on the rise. I took what I learned and applied it to assist the women who came to me and expressed no sexual joy due to trauma.

This was in 2012 and I’m researching about women, and vaginal care I stumble upon something called Yoni (Vaginal) Steaming. I was like, “Hmm, what is this???? Vaginal Steaming?” I was intrigued! I searched out everything I could about it. During my search, I found a person of interest her name is, Thema Azize- Serwa of “The Womb Sauna.” I studied her website, her social media pages for months then I called her. I spoke of my contribution to women’s sexual health, and we hit it off! We would call one another and talk for hours. She’d talk to me about Vaginal Steaming and I would discuss women’s sexuality and pleasure. With all of this great information and once I heard that vaginal steaming could heal in releasing sexual trauma and womb discomforts, I knew this is something I wanted to incorporate in my life’s work.

I had read Queen Afua’s book, Sacred Woman in 2002 but I felt like it was time to revisit it, and in looking up information for Sacred Woman I stumbled across a class for Vaginal Steaming. I was like, “WHAT!!!!” This class was to be held in Atlanta in April of 2013. Who was going was, ME!!! I contacted the lady who promoted the information. She is the director and founder on the “Yoni Steam Institute. Her name is Iya Olosunde Ajala, and her Mother Sanovia Muhammad. I stayed in Atlanta for four days and learned the sacred art of Vaginal Steaming, Womb Health and client care. In those four days, I was totally transformed.

I was charged and super excited to have something for the women that could reduce fibroids, PCOS, Vaginal infections, endometriosis and release emotional discomfort as well as unblock stagnant energy associated with trauma, along with restore the balance and health of the womb. To find out that this remedy had been used by the Mothers and Medicine Woman of indigenous cultures before coming to the west was phenomenal. I desired to know more about holistic wellness and herbalism so I became certified by Dr. Akua Gray as a Holistic Health and Wellness Practitioner. Everything I learned resonated with my soul. I was alive!

I opened Sensual Honey Feminine Wellness a tranquil and unique spa experience that specialized in providing vaginal steaming, womb health care products and sensual education. I began providing and creating products for women and womb wellness. One of our most popular products is our Sensual Honey Sweet Yoni Tea. It’s an all-organic herbal tea blend full of womb healing and sexual enhancement herbs, and fruits for a beautiful tea-sipping ritual. The fruits and the selected herbs make your vagina smell and taste sweet for great sexual pleasure. We have also created a 15 herb, spices and flower Sweet Vaginal Steam Herbal Blend along with instructions for women who choose to vaginal steam from home. We provide Yoni (Crystal) Eggs along with a class that teaches women about the holistic sensual science, amazing benefits and their use.

I continued to learn more about herbal therapies, hygiene and proper procedures for optimal application of this new vaginal steaming experience. My experimenting with herbal remedies and compounds felt very natural. I served the women of Lake Charles, Louisiana for close to two years and then I met my handsome and supportive husband, and I then decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia. I made it to Atlanta in July of 2015. I began vaginal steaming woman and becoming an advocate for womb health and feminine wellness. The more woman I came in contact with the more woman would ask me to teach them what I know. At first, I was like, “I don’t teach this! I’m still a student. Go to my teacher at the Yoni Steam Institute.”

I remember a woman from New York would call me every few months for a year and ask if I began teaching yet. I told her, “No, not yet! Go to my teacher.” She would always end the conversation with, “I’ll wait!” Women began calling my teacher and asking her if I had any classes. I like to say that my students stretched me because they did! These women were persistent that they wanted what I had not someone else, but ME! I had to go to spirit and ask if this was part of my path and purpose, and I received confirmation when I called my teacher for her blessing and she gave it. I then created a class for Yoni (Vaginal) Steaming for Self Care and I had four students for my first class. I had women calling me asking for a Practitioners’s Training. They desired to know how to service other women with this profound vaginal steaming service. So, I used what I applied in my sessions in servicing women and put it in a curriculum and created Goddess (Vaginal) Steam Practitioners Training and Business Course. I knew that with each woman I taught if she was successful then so was I to be successful because I had planted the seed and shared the knowledge. I also knew that learning the business was going to increase her success. The business portion is necessary!

I’m happy to say that I have taught classes on self-care, womb health and sensuality all across the globe. I’m even happier to say that our students are also taking their communities by storm and traveling sharing the gospel of this fascinating wonder called Yoni (Vaginal) Steaming.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I can go here and not feel a bit convicted when I say the word “Vagina.” However, when others hear the word they become tense and quiet. Many will change the subject. I’m speaking of women. It is unfortunate that men have no problem talking about vaginas but we women get all caught up around the throat and feel ashamed and convicted of our genitalia. This can be a real struggle. I’m having the conversations. the conversations about sexual pleasure, orgasm, empowerment, sensuality, sexual trauma, fear, guilt, shame, womb care, menstruation, anger and total disconnect. These conversations nudge at our programming, at our nakedness that you wish you could hide. Woman become vulnerable and this can be a most uncomfortable space, Hunny!

Another challenge is that many woman calls this work, “witches work” due to the fact we deal with herbal remedies and the elements. However, as a Black Woman in America, many of our Grandmothers and family members weren’t allowed into the hospitals and clinics. We had to heal ourselves and our families with what the Earth, the herbs and the land taught us. Healing with herbs, spices, and elixirs is what we’ve always done. It goes way back. It’s ancient. Many of us also come from Native American heritage where the Earth and nature will serve us as we serve her. This wisdom has been passed down through generations. There’s nothing witchy poo about that. It’s Grandmama’s medicine. Everything we need is in nature.

A very personal challenge I experience in this work was connecting with a man who would love me, my voice and my openness to my sexuality. Many men desire that but in the bedroom only! Don’t be too loud in public though. They don’t necessarily desire a woman who speaks so free, and also has a sex appeal that is attractive. I thank the most high daily that I have connected with my husband who is secure in himself first and foremost, and even more secure on what it took to strategized and make me his wife with everything he knows about me, and what he knows about my work and the life-changing and effects of this womb work.

Love My Womb Academy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What sets us apart is our purpose. Our purpose is not to be the only business, academy or company that shares the health and wealth of womb work and vaginal steaming. We support our students along the way. We continue to mentor long after the class is over. We are a Sistahood, a family! We are creating women entrepreneurs that are becoming financially self-sufficient, We believe in the law of abundance and we not only share the teaching and protocol of proper vaginal steaming we share in the business.

We share in the research of products, herbal distributors, and more. We know that when our students WIN we also WIN! Let me mention that we are nationally accredited and board-certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and a member school of the American Herbalist Guild. Our students can become Board Certified Practitioners upon their completion of their Goddess (Vaginal) Steam Practitioners Course with their Love My Womb Academy certification. This gives them more credibility in their skilled field.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is when our students have their own personal healing breakthroughs. Many of our students come with womb health ailments and because of what we teach and inspire they go forth and heal themselves from infertility, fibroid, sexual dysfunction, and unresolved trauma. Many saved themselves from a doctor’s diagnosis of needing a hysterectomy. Because of this, they succeed in their businesses with speed. They now have the experience, training and the testimony to help the women in their communities connect with their own personal healing. Our students come from all walks of life. We have police officers, lawyers, chiropractors, mothers, nurses, doctors, farmers, doulas, chefs, and more. When they trust in their divine inner voice and come to us for their educational experience and open a V Spa in their community and they are thriving and fulfilling their calling with courage it brings me to tears that we had a hand in that. I’m tearing up now.

I’m also extremely proud when women travel from places like the U.K. Holland and Africa to the United States to join our Love My Womb Academy’s Womb Health and Feminine Wellness Program. I’m so honored. Yes, tears of gratitude and joy are expected.
