Meet Trailblazer Alexandra Scuffle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Scuffle.

Alexandra, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started photography at a very young age in Elementary school. Whenever I go on field trips, I would pick up a disposable camera. Since then, I got carried away playing around and editing photos. It had thrived me to be serious and passionate. Some of my inspirations came from a well-known photographer, Mario Testino. My mom’s best friend is working partner with Mario. That had always been special to me since growing up. Concert photography was one of the first things that I fell in love. I happened to have some friends that were in a band. They knew what I do and asked me to shoot their show. I was able to build up my portfolio. I moved on up to shoot major bands. It has been the best thing ever of what I love. My dream is to become like tour photographer, Annie Leibovitz who shot for The Rolling Stones.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had run into some struggles which I think is normal for every photographer. I got my lens stolen, photos didn’t come out the way you wanted to be, canceling a photoshoot, unexpected harsh weather, and so on. There will always be rejections and errors. No matter what, you have to keep ongoing. I would take it as a learning experience. I believe that struggles can lead to success.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Alexandra Scuffle Photography – what should we know?
I specialize in concert and portrait photography. I also do some weddings and other events. I shoot mostly in Atlanta but willing to travel. I’m most proud of seeing my work of progress growing better and better including editing skills. I learned to have a good eye to capture. I had people came up to me, complimented my work. It tells me that I accomplished of getting more of my work out there. I love to bring joy into each and every person by putting a smile on their face.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I come from a large family. Growing up, my mom would get four of my siblings and I to make fun art like painting and drawing. There were no cell phones and tablets. I always playing outside and would stay outside almost all day. I was raised with my Peruvian family so there were lots of live jam at my house. I even played the violin. Creativity played a big role in my life.
