Meet Trailblazer Emily Keller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Keller.

Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been passionate about multiple different things including graphic, interior, and fashion design, beauty, and lifestyle, as well as inspiring others in their faith through my own story, and helping them along this wonderful journey of life. I had gone back and forth trying to figure out what exactly I wanted to do with my life that could encompass all of the things that I love, and after quite some time of praying and planning, I landed on creating a blog that was centered around all of my passions, rather than one niche.

Has it been a smooth road?
The hardest part of the entire process is getting the courage to start. For me, that has come in waves. First it was getting the courage to invest in a website. Then it was the courage to put out my first blog. Even still to this day, I get butterflies as I publish an article or a social media post. I think the most important thing is to never compare yourself to another person. It’s great to have role models and goals, but make sure that they are your own and not someone else’s. It can be so beyond intimidating to look at an influencer or fellow blogger’s page and see that they have new blogs up every day and have hundreds of thousands of followers, but at the end of the day, I am happy with the content I’m putting out, and so are my followers. And not only are they happy with it, but it’s making a difference in their lives. That’s all that matters.

We’d love to hear more about ELK.
I am currently a blogger, graphic designer, and social marketing manager. My passion is to help women discover their true worth and where it comes from. I want women to feel empowered in the most pure and authentic way. I strive to teach them that their worth is not found in a movement, but in who they were created to be- beautiful, feminine, strong, intelligent, elegant, and graceful creations with a purpose only they can fulfill. My faith is a huge part of my brand. I pray before publishing anything on my blog or social media to make sure I am conveying my message in the best way possible. It is interwoven in every aspect. I think this is a huge piece that sets me apart.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mom will forever be my top inspiration. I grew up as an Army brat with my dad deployed 8 times for at least 9 months at a time. During this time, I witnessed my mom be a single parent to three kids, juggling everything life through at her like a champ. She is the hardest working, most amazing and loving person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She taught me to never give up, and never let life keep you down. Things will happen that are out of your control, so you pray and push through it. God will always provide.

I’ve been so blessed to have so many amazing women around me, from my grandmothers and aunts, to youth pastors and senior pastors, to some of the most amazing friends. I think there is something to be learned from every woman you come in contact with.
