Fani, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am so bad at this!!!! It’s kind of hard to actually put your life story in writing!
I started seven years ago at Toni&Guy hairdressing Academy with a vision, And a passion to make people feel beautiful and believe in their beauty especially women!
I always had a creativity for hair and love to create updos and started to fall in love with the bridal atmosphere, I specialize in making my brides not only look beautiful but FEEL beautiful!!|
I love to listen and deliver their all over dream bridal look, from makeup to hair to jewelry sets for my South Asian brides to the most important setting of the veil.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Has it been easy? No, not at all, but is anything new ever easy??
I’m a mother of four started very young.
Had my daughter at 15, but NEVER did I backed down, like I said before I always had a vision and having my daughter so young only made me stronger and always pushed my self for more!!
I had a million and one reasons to stop and pause my career, which I did for a whole year after I graduated from Toni & Guy, but got back on my feet and pushed my self harder than ever!!
My advice to you, always put your self FIRST, SECOND, and THIRD As selfish as it might sound TRUST Me self love is far more important than pleasing others and doing what you love and have a calling for is self-love!!
And most importantly, never quit adapting to your circumstances as hard as they may seem.
And on top of that, never forget to flourish!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Fani Bustos Studio – what should we know?
I specialize in magic. How?
By helping women feel beautiful and confident through the enhancement of their natural beauty. I have gotten addicted to the expressions on my client’s faces after I finish working on them. It is pretty magical and that is what I live for. I love getting women ready for special events, especially brides.
I love that they trust me to make them look as they always imagined (or better) on their special day.
Whether is through make-up, hair color, up-dos or styling, in general, I strive to offer the best service possible because I take my clients’ trust very seriously. Their satisfaction is my number 1 priority.
I have been told that you should only specialize in one area, but I disagree. I believe in offering my clients a one-stop-shop solution for all of their beauty needs. That is why I always continue learning new techniques and I stay updated on the latest trends.
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well-positioned for?
Yes!
Because of the challenges facing women today, I believe that more than ever we have the opportunity to show or prove that despite all the “challenges” a woman can still follow her dreams and be successful if she works for them.
I think we have been given the opportunity to demonstrate that everything is possible as long as we’re willing to go after it. Our kids and family should be our motivation, not our excuse not to go after our dreams. I believe that women today have the opportunity to demonstrate that it is possible to have it all and look fabulous in the process.
