Meet Trailblazer Good Game Auntie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Good Game Auntie.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am an Atlanta native originally known as Big Peaches from the Jonesboro South community projects in Atlanta, Ga, where I learned the streets of surviving from hustling, witnessing friends crossing one another over money and facing death. As life goes and I noticed more young kids getting killed by police brutality or killing of themselves. I decided to be the voice for the young kids, the mothers that lost their kids, the children without a father or mother. I’ve spoken at several funerals, platforms of many peers speaking about gun violence, police brutality or been a motivator speaker. After a while, my name changed from Big Peaches to Good Game Auntie because the stories that I tell are all life experiences and other feels they can relate to them on so many different levels.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I definitely will say it has not been a smooth road, simply because the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face has been honesty to myself from myself. But I must admit that’s it’s been challenging losing of my mother last year, loss of family and friends to gun violence or the system. One quote I will always say, “Can’t trust the game if it’s starring you in the face,” something I live by and know things and people change really quickly. And I had to teach myself to adapt to changes and change my surroundings and mindset. My advice to any woman is to continue to walk in your purpose, know your worth, don’t ever give up and strive for greatness. Always pay it forward!

Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
My work is to motivate others, speak my truths, specialize in bringing awareness to gun violence and police brutality. I am most proud to say I’ve worked with entertainers in the music industry to bring awareness to these many problems, I’ve been feature an also, good friends with Monica “R&B singer” music video, Tonya Wright, Young Jeezy album “Church in the streets”, Tiny Harris, Rick Ross, Mike Epps, Young Thug, Gunna, etc. Proud to be able to utilize their platform to bring awareness to the problems that society faces. I’ve also started several Non-Profits “Give a hug foundation,” Podcast coming soon “Facing Demons.”

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
Definitely will advise anyone young or older to have a mentor that’s in the field you are in. Therefore you can learn the many things that they have learned in the industry. What works for me is to listen first, talk later, I always say when you are busily being a know it all, you will miss out on the lesson of what others and life trying to teach you.
