Meet Trailblazer Rhonda Yearwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Yearwood.

Rhonda Yearwood also known as The Wedding Analyst started her journey of wedding planning over ten years ago after the stress of dealing with her own wedding. When Rhonda works with a bride, she understands the pressures, frustrations, and uncertainty that new brides experience throughout the planning process. Rhonda’s personal experience, professional training, and passion for the industry has given her the tools that she needs to be an astounding executor of events. Ask any of her brides, and they will tell you that she is the calm during the storm, the problem solver and the event executor. Rhonda is result driven and wants nothing more than for her clients to feel like guests at their own wedding.

Rhonda is a native of Tampa, FL and resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband, Victor. She is the proud aunt of over 20 nieces and nephews. She loves working with couples who value what life has to offer and who uses their wedding to share their personal love story.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I was confused in the beginning of my journey because I thought I wanted to plan all events and work with any budget. I quickly found out that if I did not niche my business and focus on my ideal client that I would be frustrated and out of business. It is for this reason that I have also started a school to train other upcoming and new planners called The Wedding Analyst Institute. I would highly recommend anyone starting a wedding planning business to get some training and learn at least the basics of planning. There are a lot of moving parts when planning events and especially with weddings. You will have to have excellent customer service, be able to multi-task, handle different personalities (sometimes all at once…lol), be creative, and great behind the scenes.

We’d love to hear more about The Wedding Analyst.
I am a planner who specializes in weddings with 100 or more guests. I love educating brides on the wedding planning process, help them clear on what they want so that their vision becomes their reality! Most people see weddings as just another family get together, but I see new beginnings. When two people are married, it creates new relationships, new reasons to celebrate and everlasting memories. I see the family barbecues, holiday parties, and family reunions. I am known for executing the perfect wedding day regardless of what’s going on behind the scenes.

I am most proud of myself for not giving up on my business. There have been times where I wanted to quit because the business was not coming in quick enough and I thought that planning was not for me. However, each time I execute a wedding or event I am reminded that the skills I have are a gift and there are people out there who need me. The fact that people choose me to plan one of the most important days of their life still amazes me. They could choose anyone, but they take a chance on me, and for that, I will always be humbled and grateful.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
The mentors that I have, chose me. My mentors watched my work ethic and my drive and saw more in me then I saw in myself.

You have to be what you want to attract. Do the work, keep your drive and remember why you started. Lastly, never give up!
