Today we’d like to introduce you to Sneak Beatz.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sneak Beatz. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in Saginaw, MI. I started making beats when I was 12 years old, one of my best friends found FL 2.5, lol. We started messing around with it, it wasn’t until I was 17, I started to take music seriously. After high school, I went to college and received a certificate in Music Engineering/production. After college, I was just a hungry bedroom producer, lol. I was working with all the local artist in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, Michigan. I was working a job and I met a friend that later on became Gucci mane engineer. One day, he called and “was like Sneak come to ATL.” I and my production partner Roc left, I quit my job and just went. We were living in a room for rent in Clark campus… yes, a room for rent all three of us, lol. The grind was really real, lol. That’s when we got the Gucci mane placement and Young thug placement. Now, we all on our own musical path but it’s still Sneak&Roc that will never change.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, it came with its ups and downs but it was all part of the process. Some of the struggles were getting an artist to really rock with the beats especially since I was from Michigan trying to get in the Atl circle. My advice to any female producer is to never give up on the dream, then focus and show out every time you’re in the studio. Your best work will be heard.
We’d love to hear more about ThaSelfLoveClub.
I’m known for my storytelling beats, my beats are stories and I make the artist really write no freestyling, they make you think and tell a story. Also, I’m known for real happy trap beats.
I’m most proud of my strength not giving up on music even though I tried but God didn’t let me. What sets me apart from any other producer is I don’t follow musical trends, I set the tone of my music.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I YouTube a lot. I’m loving the producer grind podcast. But most of all, allowing God back into my life has been the biggest help and putting faith in his hands, following his lead. I’ve been listening to motivational speakers as well really love Les Brown, he teaches you to stay hungry for your dreams.
