Meet Trailblazer Yanna Icaria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yanna Icaria.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began taking makeup more seriously back in 2016. Beforehand, I would always just play in it because it was something I enjoyed doing. I never thought that it would be something I would love as much as I do now. I did my very first makeup job for my friends’ shoot summer of 2018 and that’s when it clicked for me how much I love makeup. I love being able to make other people feel beautiful and comfortable.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This journey has not been all rainbows and flowers. I don’t believe that anything worth obtaining is easily obtained. There are nights where I’ll be up for hours just practicing on myself, starting over when I’m not satisfied. There have been shoots where I feel I didn’t put my best foot forward, but it’s all stepping stones! Sometimes, you have to fall and pick yourself back up. There will be times where you will feel a little discouraged, but victory is so much sweeter when you realize all the work you put in actually paid off.

We’d love to hear more about HoneyBee Faces.
I am a freelance MUA on the rise. I specialize in natural beats but have a pretty wide variety of work. I am most proud of my growth over the years. I catch myself doing comparisons of my work, then and now photos, and am always amazed at how hard I worked to get to where I am now. What sets me apart from the rest is my dedication to my brand and to my growth. I take pride in making other people feel beautiful and it makes me feel so full knowing that I could make someone else feel amazing!

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
It’s important that you believe in yourself. You are all you have, sometimes and when no one else is around, you have to be strong enough to push yourself forward. Don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to have to try again and again. Continue to water your craft, grow with it.
