Meet Trenton Brown of Trentshotme, 19andBelow, The Journey to Insanity in Dekalb County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trenton Brown.

Trenton, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
At 17 years old, I was given a camera by students at Morehouse College while an employee at the college’s bookstore. Attending Georgia Southern University in Spring 2015, I was recognized for my photography and creation of an Instagram page called Gsu.cam. This was an attempt at creating a platform to showcase the multiple elements of human activity in the college community. I was offered a job by the Auxiliary Service Marketing Dept of the Georgia Southern and held the position for about a semester and this opened me to many resources and lessons that I still hold to today. After one year, during the summer break, I created my business 19andBelow as a way to give students access to beautiful accessories to enhance their wardrobe at an affordable price. Moving from Statesboro back to Atlanta, my company has been placed in multiple stores across Atlanta and the metro area. Also, this past February, I photographed for CK Talent Agency at F/W New York Fashion Week. I am now curating my first fashion show “Journey to Insanity” at Morehouse College April 22nd.

Has it been a smooth road?
This road has not been smooth, by far, but I have had many people placed in my life to spread their knowledge to help me overcome. Investing in yourself can be very stressful and requires a lot of time outside of your 9-5 and monetary requirements. I have had to struggle with the anxiety of getting a task completed before deadlines and many days lacking sleep, team members abandoning me.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Trentshotme, 19andBelow, The Journey to Insanity – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
19andBelow is a maturing accessories brand, I crafted and released on my 19th birthday. Known for popping up across the city at some of the biggest events to selling specialty items all $19 and under. Through my experience with the college budget, my objective was to build a brand in which students would be able to purchase at least one item with a twenty dollar bill. I am appreciative of every person I have met that have shared their time and story with me through my ambitions as an entrepreneur.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I appreciate the versatility of Atlanta and the resources to network in business and music. However, the industry of fashion has a lot of room for growth.
