Tye, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Planning for events and cooking is something that I have always been passionate about. Growing up in South Carolina, my family threw gatherings literally every weekend so we would spend hours cooking and preparing for events. As I grew older, the love for it just grew stronger. I always knew that I wanted to start my own business, but I never knew when the right time would be.
One day while I was at work, I was reading a book and it was explaining that starting a business was like a phone app. You work on it until the app is good enough to be released. Once it’s released, use feedback and suggestions from your clients o make the product better and you build onto that.
In a weird way, this is how my business started. I took from that passage that if you waited forever to start a business then you will be waiting forever. Nothing will ever be perfect starting off, but you start when you have a good enough foundation. With hard work, dedication, and an open mind while having a willingness to learn, you would be amazed at how things come together.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy road. With us being pretty new in the market, most people overlook us when it comes to planning their events. They often feel like with the company being as new as it is and as young as I am, I lack in skills and experience. This is not the case. Every day I am taking it upon myself to study the market and stay up on current event trends, as well as current dessert trends.

T-Vents: Events By Tye is an Event Planning and Catering company. Established February 2017, we offer everything from event management, budget control, catering and so much more to make your event a success. With our mission to create life long memories that you and your loved ones will cherish forever, we are dedicated to meet each individual need to ensure the best possible outcome.
Right now, we are mostly known for our variety of desserts. Our best sellers at the moment are our Chocolate Covered Strawberries and our Red Velvet Cheesecake Cookies.
As a company, we are most proud of always getting our clients involved. Most companies get stuck in a pattern where they don’t like to reach out to the community and see what they actually want and actively seek feedback. Events By Tye welcomes feedback, critiques, and suggestions to make our company better.
What sets us apart is our professionalism. No matter if you are someone we have known for years or someone we just met, we treat everyone with the utmost respect and with the highest professionalism possible.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important characteristics I possess that will help me succeed is that I am extremely are open-minded and willing to learn. I feel it is very important to remember that I do not know everything and I can always learn something new from other people.
