Meet Tyler Stewart of Heavenly Paws Pet Aquamation in Norcross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Stewart.

Tyler, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When we, the Stewart family, suddenly lost our Golden Retriever, Mitzy, we became intrigued by afterlife pet care. As we researched how aftercare was administered to our beloved furry family members, we learned many things: the outdated technology used, the immense pollution caused by crematories burning 24/7, the lack of transparency, and most importantly, we learned about Aquamation.

Aquamation represents our calling to serve the community we’ve called home for over four decades; moreover, an opportunity to provide the future of afterlife care in an eco-conscious, sustainable way. We assembled a business plan and opened our doors in September 2015. The response from the pet parent community has been wonderful as evidenced by our tremendous growth – 998% (yes, nearly 1000%) from 2016 – 2017.

Has it been a smooth road?
While we have enjoyed wonderful growth from the pet parent community, there have been challenges. Heavenly Paws expected more vets to embrace an eco-friendly alternative for afterlife pet care – helping reduce massive amounts of carbon emissions in our community. Each pet flame cremated is akin to an average vehicle driving 500 miles when considering the amount of fossil fuels burned.

All we ask of the veterinarians is to do their part by offering the options and let the pet parent choose for themselves. Unfortunately, only a select group of forward thinking clinics offer Aquamation yielding slower growth in the pet parent community than if we had the entire veterinary end-of-life audience.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Heavenly Paws offers a service called Aquamation. Aquamation works by combining water and alkali to mirror what happens upon a natural burial in a very short time. Aquamation services provide the same ash one would receive after a flame cremation.

What sets Heavenly Paws apart, aside from our laser focus on world-class customer service, is Aquamation uses 95% less energy, eliminates carbon emissions, provides 20% more ashes, and any implanted prosthetics are recovered unharmed and able to be donated for reuse.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Our city has been wonderfully receptive to Heavenly Paws Pet Aquamation. Our hearts are touched daily by our client’s commitment to spreading the word about our business. We would encourage anyone to start a similar business in our community!
