Meet Tyler Streetman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Streetman.

Hi Tyler, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always wanted to own a business but have just recently taken that step. So to start with I had been installing fences and automated gates for about three years and was wanting to do something different. I had some friends that were selling roofs and making good money so I thought I’d give it a shot. I found a local roofing company that was hiring on Indeed and took a position as a sales rep with them. After learning the ins and outs, I started doing pretty well and thought this could be a life-changing opportunity. This was an awesome company that I learned a lot from and they were a huge stepping stone to where I am today. After about two years with them, I really felt my heart leading me to start my own company.

We started up in June of last year (2021) and it has been an awesome journey so far. I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of God. It hasn’t always been an easy journey as I struggled with drug addiction from my teenage years and into my mid 20’s. I turned to drugs in my even younger years to battle a lot of negativity I was holding onto but in April of 2019, I surrendered and gave all of that to the God and He has truly blessed me beyond measure since then by allowing me to use my full potential by getting a great job to helping me start my own business. I was even blessed enough to marry my wife almost four months ago. I am excited to see what the future holds for us as a family and as young business owners. She is also helping out a lot with the roofing business, all while starting her own photography business. Our main goal is to be able to make a difference in our community and hopefully even further.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting this company and even leading up to it has been a huge learning experience. I don’t want to say it hasn’t been a smooth road but it definitely hasn’t been easy. Right now, I’m wearing a lot of hats in the company so I definitely wish there was more time in a day. There are a lot of different roofing companies in the area so we have a lot of competition but I would say our biggest challenge would be finding the right people to bring on board. Being a small company, we want to make sure we’re hiring the right person at the right time. We also have a culture here that we strive to stand by which is Excellence, Integrity and Leadership so anyone we bring on we want them to fit the culture. We’re not looking for experience but potential. If someone has the potential and willingness to learn, we can teach the rest.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are a roofing and insurance restoration company. We focus on full roof replacements but also do repairs, gutters, siding and trim work. About 70% of our work is insurance related. We have an insurance process to where we guide the homeowner through the entire process of their insurance claim, keeping it as stress-free on them as possible in an already stressful situation.

I am very proud of and we are extremely happy with how we are setting up the brand of our company and what people are going to know us by. It is a reflection of myself personally and who God has created me to be and we are also building an amazing culture around that. When people think of Transformation Roofing, I don’t want them to only think of a great roofing company but also a trusted business that is a part of the community. We will always be a company to give back to our community to serve and help in any way we can.

What sets us apart from others is our willingness to go above and beyond. We strive to make sure our customers are overly satisfied throughout the entire process of their project. We focus on customer service and will do whatever it takes to make sure our clients are happy. Our customer service and work revolve around excellence, quality, satisfaction and convenience on the customer.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you’re just starting out – don’t be afraid to ask for help. Running a successful business isn’t something you can do on your own. Build your brand and a culture within that and the right people will come.

It gets tough and there’s a lot of pressure sometimes but set goals, find your “why” and stay focused on that and it’ll be a little easier to keep pushing through those hard days.

“Progression not Perfection.”
