Meet Uyi Abraham of Vonza in Alpharetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Uyi Abraham.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a serial entrepreneur on a mission to change people’s lives through the means of knowledge. I started my entrepreneurial journey with $100 to my name, a suitcase of clothes and a software a friend gave to me create and design websites. As I was building my various businesses, I began to learn about the requirements (and necessity) of branding, marketing, selling, SEO, social media and like.

I had to also confront my own livelihood to change it for the better by rebuilding my credit, starting brick and mortar businesses from scratch and learning about taxes. After a while, I realized that other people needed this information too and I could put it together in the way I wish I could have learned vs the guerrilla means I had to use. So I began to package it a way that was easy to digest and apply thus thrusting me into the knowledge Commerce space.

As I started offering my knowledge to others, I realized that there were so many different tools that I had to use just to run an efficient online business. It was tasking. Here I am trying to make money but the money I’m making I’m having to spend on all these different tools to have the business run smoothly. After a while, I’m asking myself why hasn’t anyone created ONE tool to do this ONE thing of teaching people my knowledge online.

That’s when the idea for a platform to consolidate selling online courses, physical products, having a beautiful website, hosting webinars and events into one, the single tool was born. That once just an idea is now Vonza.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road! The technology space can come with a lot of hiccups, one of them being high cost and uninformed developers. Not saying the developers weren’t knowledgeable but rather for what we were trying to do, we needed them to be extremely knowledgeable as well as creative and efficient. So that took several people and thousands of dollars, testing, measuring, time and resources to get a team that would work well and sticks. We have that now but it was time-consuming at first.

The name Vonza wasn’t the initial name of the business but we had already started building and growing. Imagine telling your team “we’re revamping everything because we want to change the name to something else”. There were a lot of blank faces but when we said Vonza everyone was like I don’t know what a Vonza is but I like it! lol. That took guts.

Please tell us about Vonza.
Vonza is an all-in-one platform to create and sell online courses, products, build funnels, design a beautiful website without needing 20 different apps and spending thousands of dollars. We specialize in the knowledge commerce industry. We’re known by creators to be the place to monetize your knowledge using an online platform.

We’re proud of being the first African American owned company in the knowledge commerce industry as well as offering to a new niche the ability to enter into the online space with a greater chance of being profitable.

Our platform sets us apart because no one else offers the combination of online business tools like we do. Those tools of selling online courses, products online, building funnels and designing beautiful websites are the foundation of a profitable online business. Once the foundation is built building the rest of the business is easily and lucrative.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I definitely would have named the company Vonza a lot sooner! Also done even more research than we did. Many people forsake doing the initial work of starting a company such as anticipated costs, industry trends, industry costs, strategic marketing and branding. Those things can take a toll on you if you don’t pick up on them pretty quickly.

Pricing:
