Today we’d like to introduce you to Valacier Broadway-Battie, Christina and Juliet Broadway . They and their team shared their story with us below:
Valacier, Juliet and Christina grew up in a loving, godly home with parents by the name of Roderick and Valerie Broadway. Their parents started their ministry by being an example of how the word of God should be brought forth. Valerie, their mother, initially started the ministry out with her beautiful voice that graced many individuals. This lead to her daughters wanting to pursue singing as well.
The Broadway daughters aim to pursue the things of God and minister to those that are in need of the gospel. Ultimately, they know that God has a plan for their lives, and singing and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus is that plan.
Contemporary gospel singer Valacier Broadway known for her strong and powerful soprano singing voice was born on August 26, in Marietta, GA, the oldest of three children. Valacier’s childhood was centered by the presence of Roswell Street Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Woodstock (where her mother often sang solos). She was singing in the church’s adult choir by the time she was 15, often as a soloist and continued singing in choir throughout high school. Her professional singing career began in the early 2000’s when she received a full music scholarship to Liberty University. The experience leads to American Idol, as well as becoming a successful voice coach.
Juliet Broadway is the middle child of Roderick and Valerie Broadway. She was born on March 30th, 1988. She is a person that is full of life and loves the Lord. Her singing career began as a toddler singing with her sisters and mother. Her mother inspired her pursuit of singing. This inspiration grew and opened doors to sing at different churches/events. Juliet has a Bachelor of Science degree, which aids in her working in the medical field. At her job, she is a light for the Lord. She is now singing in plays/churches and working on songs for the Broadway Sisters Group!
CHRISTINA BROADWAY (ALTO)
Growing up in Marietta, GA as the youngest of three children, Christina Broadway was born on August 13th, 1989. She began singing with her family at a young age, which sparked the passion to continue singing. While in college, Christina studied government pre-law, and in her spare time she performed in many musicals and sang at multiple churches. She went on to pursue her dreams to become an attorney, and that dream was fulfilled in December of 2016. She is currently working on music with her sisters while working in the legal field.
We started our singing ministry after watching our mother be an example for God through song and worship as children. This started at a young age, and we continued to see God’s hand on our mom and her health. Thankfully, both of our parents instilled the things of the Lord and laid a biblical foundation for Christ.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Some obstacles in the way came for us at an early age. Our mother was given the wrong medicine from a rookie doctor at 32 and was told she had two days to live. This caused her kidneys to fail and her body started shutting down.
Thankfully, God had other plans for her and our family, but this took a toll on us and my dad. She has now had two kidney transplants and is doing very well. We, as a group, have seen God do miraculous things that we don’t deserve, but are truly thankful!
We’ve been impressed with The Broadway Sisters, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are gospel singers and we sing for God! Professionally, Valacier is a camp director, teacher, coach, and singer. Juliet works with an orthopedic office as the lead scheduler for the surgeons. Christina is an attorney and is working as a prosecutor.
What does success mean to you?
Success to us is living in your God-designed purpose. God has a plan for all of us, and we want to follow his path for our lives!
