Today we’d like to introduce you to Vee Prince.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I decided to move from Los Angeles to Atlanta following the sudden death of my husband in 2016. I needed a fresh start and was excited to be immersed in the robust culture that the city had to offer. I started producing video content, hosting red carpet interviews and events, while also writing for The Curvy Fashionista and Vanichi magazine. I was also hired as the host of the aspireMKTPLC for aspire TV. In that time, I launched Cuddle ‘n Hug as a way to create safe spaces to give and receive hugs. We started out doing small mixers and now we also co-host day parties, pool parties, brunch events, and picnics.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest issues we’ve had have been funding. However, the blessing in lack of resources is discovering innovative ways to get things done. We’ve been blessed with the gift of collaboration, which allows us to expand our event calendar while reducing our overhead. Another struggle has been maintaining a comfortable and relatively nonsexual atmosphere. Our events are about touch therapy, so we focus on that and be sure to enforce strict rules of engagement with an emphasis on consent at all times. Our challenges have definitely helped us to better define our brand and deliver a better experience for our followers.
Please tell us about Cuddle ‘n Hug.
Cuddle ‘n Hug creates safe spaces to give and receive hugs. We produce and host various events, including mixers, pool parties, and brunch. Attendees that see us in our shirts can receive hugs at any time. We want guests to be comfortable. Our guests are really supportive of us and we look forward to continued growth.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I might have gotten more investors to make things easier, but I’m learning.
