Today we’d like to introduce you to Vee SpeakLife.
Vee, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a sincere servant leader encouraging others to “Speak LIFE not strife. As a native of historic Savannah, Georgia I earned my Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Savannah State University and continued studies in Science Education and Bioscience Regulatory Affairs. I am a survivor of domestic violence and during my most difficult time, I began to speak up and out about my experience. Not only as therapy for myself but to be a voice for the voiceless.
I coupled my experience in Corporate America and as a former Science and Math Educator to establish the non-profit, Shifted Masterpiece Inc. which serves and supports domestic violence survivors and families, as well as At Risk Youth.
My journey is now all about developing Chemistry with the masses who’ve experienced domestic violence and showing them how to be survivors who thrive and gain positive self-awareness, worth, and empowerment. With my global motto- “The more we speak life, the more we will see positive outcomes manifest,” I now assist others on their journey from Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, Verbal, and Financial bondage to total liberation.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with most, my life has been filled with vicissitudes with my most challenging experience of being an abusive relationship. During the course of a two-year marriage, I experienced all forms of abuse. I turned from being a strong and independent woman to a fragile, timid, and disheartened wife.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Shifted Masterpiece – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud and what sets you apart from others.
We are a nonprofit organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. We are here to help Domestic Violence Survivors and At-Risk Youth move beyond the broken pieces and rebuild their lives by teaching essential Life Skills, Leadership, Anti-bullying Awareness, and Legacy building. I am most proud of our unique approach to community outreach of which we host a monthly Open Mic event for the community to raise their voices in a poetic and musical manner.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I look forward to the growth and support of Shifted Masterpiece as we continue to serve the community and offer the much-needed services for survivors of abuse. As a young organization, formally less than a year old, we are working tirelessly to introduce ourselves and services to the greater metropolitan area. As we move forward in our efforts to serve we’re beginning to seek funding and sponsorship to better meet the needs of those we serve.
I also have my book available for purchase on Amazon.com and www.vspeaklife.com (for an autographed copy). To accompany this book, I have a survivor’s workbook releasing in 2019.
