Hi Verity, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Verity Washington and I own a digital agency that specializes in helping package stores launch delivery and web properties. I have been in Digital Marketing and Web Development for over seven years now. Helping brands connect with their customers to convert sales has always been an exciting challenge for me! Over the past two years, I had the pleasure of working for a large smoothie and food brand. While there, I expanded my digital knowledge to become a delivery expert. Helping over 800 locations launch curbside and delivery on the brand’s own channels (like web and app) and on platforms like Doordash and UberEats.
When Covid-19 shutdowns happened, those restaurants depended on digital to continue to make sales. Delivery was powerful pre-covid so imagine how important it is for brands now! So important that Georgia passed a law (HB 879 ) in June that always the delivery of beer, wine, and liquor right to your door. I knew this was something I could help business owners launch successfully since I had web and delivery experience. I immediately started reaching out to delivery companies that specialize in spirit delivery like MiniBar and Drizzly. I began forming partnerships with them. Pecking Digital has been helping local package stores enter the digital age ever since.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Believe it or not, a lot of package store owners were hesitant about launching delivery or had not even heard that the law was passed. I had to not only create the digital strategy for my customers but I had to guide them through the laws as well. Helping these business owners realize that this is an opportunity that they can be a part of was my biggest hurdle.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Pecking Digital is a Digital Agency that specializes in launching Delivery, E-commerce Websites for package stores, and informational sites for small businesses. What sets us apart is that my team is made up of specialist that have launched such initiatives for large companies but work with clients one on one. We come in and work to remove all the stress of setting up delivery and digital channels for package stores. Our customers are really getting a premium experience with us. Outside of the delivery market, we also work with businesses to launch websites, create social media strategy, and get found online through good SEO.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was pretty outgoing and extremely involved in activities like the Georgia Children’s Chorus, Drama, Band, FBLA, Student Council, and I even traveled abroad to Japan through an exchange program. I have always been straight forward and enjoy an adventure through arts! I remember my last year in college wondering what I was going to do because I hated my major in Criminal Justice and didn’t want to work in that field. I started a blog and took some Google Courses to teach myself digital marketing. I created a plan and never looked back. Once I make my mind up about something, I give it my all and work until it is done.
