Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Bell.
Veronica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been creative. I love to draw, and create things. My side hustle in college as a freshman was doing designs on toes.
I initially started making jewelry in 2012 as Divine Accessories. I started making bracelets but noticed that so many others were doing it and I try to be in my own lane as much as possible, for that reason I started making hand painted earrings. Though I did pretty well it wasn’t my vision and I felt I could do better so I closed my business in 2016.
I wasn’t happy about it but I needed to refocus and do what I wanted and that was making jewelry with a meaning. After studying techniques, gemstones, and what I wanted my brand to be I started Wrist Candi by Roni Bee in January 2019.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, self-doubt and overthinking have been obstacles for me. I used to struggle with thinking my craft wasn’t good enough to produce something people will love. Feeling that everybody making bracelet and that I shouldn’t try it again. But my husband often reminds me, “everybody ain’t YOU”.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Wrist Candi by Roni Bee – what should we know?
Wrist Candi by Roni Bee creates gemstone bracelets as well as offers statement tees, handmade earrings and quality handbags. I specialize in Wrist Candi, pretty little inspirations as I like to call them. My bracelets usually feature a charm with a saying or quote that reminds you, you got this, it will be ok, or reminds you of who you are and makes you feel good. Just like candy the beads I use have color variations that make you think of candy, and of course people are always happy to get candy lol.
I pride myself on having great customer service, I put myself in the customers shoes as to how I want to be treated. Communication is very important and paying attention to detail is something many of my customers say they appreciate.
What sets me apart from others is not only my customer service, I give customers and potential customers ideas as to how to style their Wrist Candi. I give examples of this on my Instagram page with my Outfits of the Day. I can pick any piece and I can show you how you can match it in your wardrobe.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
It is important for me to stay consistent, not predictable, people will know who I am because I don’t go after the hot trend just to make a dollar and I treat my customers the way I’d like to be treated as a customer.
