Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Harris.
Victoria, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I first started my business venture, I created the signature “Beauty Inspired” apparel to uplift and empower women. Three years ago, I attended my first year at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University majoring in Fashion Merchandising and Design. After my first apparel construction class, I fell in love with designing. I started off creating custom outfits for myself and my best friend. Then, my work got noticed by local college students. I was soon creating custom outfits for birthdays, photoshoots and fashion shows for men, women, and children, Shop Blvssom has been featured in DC Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, York Country Fashion Week and upcoming Greensboro Fashion Week. Designing has brought a new light into my life and I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. On August 1st, 2019, Shop Blvssom introduced Interior and Art.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business there are plenty of obstacles you run into. The main one I’ve come across is finding the right products to produce. Something that may be appealing to me may not be appealing to others. I’ve learned to find the medium and produce products revolving around trends.
Please tell us about Shop Blvssom.
Shop Blvssom specializes in Custom Apparel, Interior Design, and Art. I create one of kind pieces for the unique and fashionable consumer. I’m most proud of the variety my company offers. Apart from the three main focuses I also offer sewing classes, wig construction, and alterations.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is watching my Nana create a pink Polkadot dress for me from scratch. I got my sewing techniques from her!
