Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Williams.
Hi Victoria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduating college, I moved from Miami to Atlanta in 2019 ready for a fresh start in a new city. I immediately began working as a medical assistant in orthopedics, where I put my health science degree to good use! Amidst my medical endeavors, I juggled social media as a means to relish in my creativity.
However, what began as a meager hobby, with me toying with having bits and pieces of my life up for public observation, quickly turned into more by the beginning of 2020. 2020 marked the start of the pandemic and the quarantine that arrived with it. My presence on social media escalated during the pandemic. I began documenting and curating content. My videos garnered the attention of hundreds of thousands of people on Tiktok and my life started to change. Various brands and campaigns were offering to pay me to advertise. After almost a year of working two jobs as a medical assistant and content creator, I finally chose the one that I felt more passionate about. I chose to be a full-time content creator where I could share my lifestyle, health journey and relationship through the creative outlets known as social media.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I initially struggled with my decision to choose to be a full-time content creator. It was difficult for me to imagine a non-traditional career where I didn’t work a 9-5. I had to look within myself and figure out what I truly wanted in life. It took months for me to build the confidence to choose my happiness over what I thought those around me expected.
I also had to make sure that I was mentally prepared to handle a job where the clock does not determine whether it’s time to go to work. Being a content creator can be a round-the-clock job. I am always thinking of new avenues to dive into, constantly exploring different ways that I can display my creativity and spending endless hours on editing to perfection. But in the end, I enjoy every aspect of it. That is how I know I made the right decision.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My content is limitless.
I love creating entertainment. My goal is to make a video so funny or enjoyable that you want to watch it more than once. These videos are typically skits or voice-overs.
I do running vlogs. This content is to keep myself accountable for my own health while also reminding others to take care of their physical health. I do voiceovers that allow the audience to peek into my thoughts during the exercises.
As an LGBTQ creator, my content appeals heavily to that population and I love being a wholesome influence for the young women who message me. I create relatable relationship content. My girlfriend typically appears alongside me in these videos. I love showing our love in a way that is genuine and real. These videos can be funny and sweet.
I am most proud of the positivity that my page radiates. I am proud that my content shows me as the confident queer black woman that I am.
I think what sets me apart from others is that I have vowed to keep everything that I post real. I can be this strong, hilarious, outgoing individual but I also don’t hide the vulnerable, the anxious or the softness within me.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Stability makes me happy. The stability of unconditional love from family. The stability of unwavering love from my girlfriend. The stability of my never-ending drive when it comes to getting what I want.
