Meet Vincent DeCastro of SEO My Business

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent DeCastro.

Vincent, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My first business venture was a publication that I started while in school at the Savannah College of Art & Design with a friend Bernard Urban called Elements Magazine. My next venture was a publication called the Menu Book that was published in Savannah, St. Simons, Orlando, and Charleston. It was targeted to people visiting the area and had local restaurant menus as ads.

I got involved in Search Engine Optimization in 2003 by helping small businesses convert traffic from Google into new business leads as an Internet Marketing Manager for Bell South. In 2006, I started my own agency called Search Nearby, which I rebranded as SEO My Business in 2016.

Has it been a smooth road?
Staring any new business that sells advertising and marketing services can be an uphill battle, but the recession in 2007 hit small businesses very hard and many of them didn’t survive. We were very fortunate in that our services deliver a great ROI compared to other traditional forms of media like newspapers or billboards, so most of our clients maintained their SEO & PPC.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SEO My Business story. Tell us more about the business.
SEO My Business is an internet marketing agency that offers small and mid-sized businesses a turnkey solution to increase sales with everything from the discovery phase (search engines) through new customer acquisition marketing (marketing automation/CRM). Our service offerings cover SEO, Pay-Per-Click Advertising, Social Media, Public Relations, Email Marketing, Marketing Automation, and CRM Integration.

I’m most proud of our ability to help companies grow their revenue and business using online marketing. We are able to provide a fully customized approach that is cost effective and enables companies to focus on running their business. We also deliver great customer service as we focus on creating new business opportunities for them.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years?  Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc..
Everything could change in internet marketing in the next 5-10 years – even the next 1-2 years. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and voice search technology are big trends that will continue to develop dramatically in the next few years. For example, there are already approximately 32 million voice search devices, like the Amazon Alexa, being used in consumers’ homes today.

As homes continue to become connected to the Internet of Things, the devices will only become more prevalent and more capable of understanding people’s buying habits and behaviors in the future. The shift from desktop to mobile search will also continue to increase, and mobile devices could potentially account for 90 percent of search queries instead of the approximate 50 percent that exists today.
