Meet Vincenzo Barone of KinggFit in Alpharetta/Sandy Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincenzo Barone.

Vincenzo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I started working out when I was about 11 years old. My dad was the biggest influence in starting my fitness journey. I was working out consistently do to playing football through my freshman year of college. When I was younger and doing jobs, not in the fitness industry, people would always ask me a fitness-related question or want to work out with me. Not really knowing what I wanted to do when I grew up, I switched my major a few times in college and had a couple of jobs after college but nothing I really loved doing. I moved down to ATL when I was 25 years old and start working at the gym, I soon after got certified with NASM and I’ve been training ever since.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road. While dealing with moving from the only place I knew as home and trying to adjust to a new place and meet new people and new friends, I was also trying to start a new career. I was hesitant to do something in the fitness industry at first because it was always my escape and I thought if I was around it, I would start to love it less. But the quote of the joker from a dark knight always stood out. “If you’re good at something, never do it for free.”

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is personal training. While I work for and with Onelife fitness, I started my KinggFit brand to help grow and keep my clientele and get my name and brand out there and more recognizable. While I do my 1 on 1 personal training with Onelife fitness I’ve also down online coaching and program designs and workout routines online with clients, not around the gym. What I’m most proud of is making and selling my KinggFit merchandise, I don’t use it as a way to make money but as a symbol to help motivate and inspire the people who buy it. Any profits that I’ve made from selling the merchandise I’ve donated to Kaboom as well. It’s a non-profit company that helps bring and build playgrounds for kids to help get and keep them in an active lifestyle. I think what sets me apart is that I was doing this already for years, now I just happen to get paid for it. And I’d continue to do it even if I wasn’t. It’s just my passion and how I’ve always lived my life. My main goal with my business is to Inspire. I know first hand what health and fitness has down for me and I just want to help inspire that into as many people as I can by my mantra of Work Good. Feel Good. Do Good.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think ATL and the surrounding area is a great place to start. It’s where I started and it’s been fantastic for me. I just think there’s so much opportunity here with such a diverse group of people. It’s a huge melting pot and the city is still growing and opportunity is only going to continue to grow.
