Virginia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded Styled by Virginia out of a passion for helping people feel confident and authentic through fashion. At 17, I got my first sewing machine and thought I’d go into design. I was fascinated by the idea of creating something from scratch. But as I explored my interests further, I realized my passion wasn’t in making clothes—it was in curating them and helping others discover their unique style. After graduating from art school in Atlanta, Georgia, with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Marketing, I moved to Los Angeles and spent close to a decade working in high-end showrooms, getting designers placement in high-end retailers and e-commerce sites like Revolve, Shopbop, and Saks and many more.
After moving back to Georgia and starting my own family, Styled by Virginia was born. With my background in fashion marketing and my eye for curated style, I offer my clients a personalized approach that blends Southern charm with a modern, elevated aesthetic. My mission is to empower individuals to express their true selves through timeless, effortless style.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road, but every twist and turn has shaped who I am today. Early on in my journey, I took a break from fashion after leaving Los Angeles and ventured into medical sales. While it was a valuable experience that taught me skills in business and client relationships, I realized that my heart was still in fashion. Coming back to the industry wasn’t easy, but I felt compelled to return and pursue my true passion.
Also, balancing the many roles I play—mother, wife, stylist, founder, and business owner—has been one of my biggest challenges today. But it’s also incredibly rewarding. Being a mother has taught me patience, and being a wife has grounded me, while my work as a stylist and business owner keeps me creatively fulfilled. The key has been learning how to prioritize, find support when needed, and be kind to myself during the tough moments. It’s a constant balancing act, but the passion for what I do and the support of my loved ones help me keep going.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been working closely with clients to elevate their wardrobes, build lasting relationships, and see them grow in confidence and self-expression.
At Styled by Virginia, we offer much more than just styling services—we provide a curated, personalized experience that blends modern sensibility with timeless style. Our client exclusive Styled by Virginia App offers a virtual closet service that helps clients organize their wardrobes, mix and match pieces, and create outfits from the comfort of home. We specialize in styling for special occasions, including bridal, event, sporting, and destination styling. I’ve had the privilege of accompanying clients on press tours and filming projects, ensuring they look and feel their best every step of the way. Whether you’re refreshing your everyday wardrobe or preparing for a special event, we’re here to ensure you feel confident and stylish. Above all, we’re committed to making fashion a fun, empowering experience for everyone we work with.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has certainly played a role in my life and business, but I believe it’s the combination of preparation, hard work, and perseverance that has helped me make the most of the opportunities that came my way. Looking back, some of my career milestones—like landing my first showroom job or working with a well-known client—were fortunate moments that came through perfect timing and meeting the right people. I’ve always visualized where I wanted my career to go and the life I wanted to create, whether that was founding Styled by Virginia or marrying my husband. I firmly believe that when you’re intentional about your goals and stay focused, the universe tends to align with your efforts. But what truly made the difference was being ready to seize those opportunities and manifesting them into reality.
