Meet Wayne Blum of The Regent Cocktail Club in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wayne Blum.

Wayne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Atlanta in 1996 and have been a staple in the restaurant business, having worked for some of Atlanta’s most successful concepts. I bring more than 25 years of experience and I’m excited to be working with LDV Hospitality to bring The Regent Cocktail Club to new heights this year.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I quickly fell in love with this industry and decided early on that it was the right career for me. Too often, people in the restaurant business use it as just a stepping stone to get them to their chosen profession. I used it to travel the country and set up shop in Atlanta and make it my home. No struggles when you love what you do.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Regent Cocktail Club – what should we know?
The Regent Cocktail Club started in Miami located inside the Gale Hotel in South Beach. Some of the country’s best mixologists have worked there to make it what it is today. The feature live music and unique cocktails in s sleek setting. Here in Buckhead, we are up in the sky! Our venue is perched atop American Cut Steakhouse consisting of open air space, with comfortable seating and atmosphere. We will strive to provide the absolute best experience that Atlanta has to offer.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
This is simple, being a good husband and father to my family. I don’t believe in titles. I want to work side by side with my staff to earn their respect. If done properly, it won’t seem like “just a job” to anyone. We will all enjoy coming to work and providing that experience. I have had that work family environment in most of the places I’ve been employed. When that exists, all operations run smoothly and guests feel very welcome without it being forced.
