Today we’d like to introduce you to Ken&Nard Beatz.
Ken&Nard, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We started in our mother’s basement making beats on FL Studios. I, Ken, was 15 when I started making beats and my brother, Nard, was 12 when he started. We began producing music seriously in 2012 and joined forces to form Ken&NardBeatz.
Has it been a smooth road?
Well, you are always going to have bumps in the road, but it was nothing we didn’t overcome. We had trouble with marketing ourselves and had a lack of professional equipment.
What role has luck had in your life and career?
None at all. We have always worked hard to get what we want in life and we believe that everything happens for a reason. We look at each situation we been through as a learning experience.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Consistency. Hard work and consistency will pay off. Creativity. We put a lot of time into our craft always looking to perfect our sound. Networking. We aren’t afraid to get out and meet people and create business opportunities.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
There’s a lot of business opportunity in our city. We don’t like the low level of creativity that’s it take to be a successful music artist. We believe that this is missing in the music industry today.
