Meet Whitney Bennett of Macon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Bennett.

Hi Whitney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Since I was born I’ve had two driving persistent consistent passions that defines who I am. The first is to see, hear, taste, smell, and touch everything I can possibly find for the purpose of figuring out how things work. The second is to create art in all forms including painting, acting, music, dance, poetry, sculpture, and creative writing. For the last 5 years my main creative focus has been painting portraits and acting in stage plays, movies, tv shows, commercials, and the local News. I paint in the style of ‘en plein air’ and my signature style is called ‘finunfin’ I’ve studied visual arts since I was 3 years old, and I’ve always been a supernova of energy and passion for life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There is no road where I go in life. I am a pioneer and make my own roads. It is a constant struggle that creates the greatest joys. The true joy of life is in the work that it takes to pave the roads ahead with patience, love, and consistency.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a prolific artist of inspirational creativity, my specialty is painting ‘en plein air’ and studio portraits for local celebrities. I am most proud of my performances on the stage of our local theatres and the stories about me in the local news. My art is curated worldwide including places like Miami, LA, New York, and London.

What were you like growing up?
As a child I was very outgoing, vibrant, inquisitive, curious, observant, and quick to learn new things. I loved to play in the woods and run through the creeks, and build forts and sandcastles. I always was painting, drawing, or writing something. I was always in a band, orchestra, or some production of music and entertainment.
