Meet Widney and Shaun Regains of Deja Vu Mirror Photo Booth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Widney and Shaun Regains.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Widney and Shaun. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Widney
Where can I begin.. I am the middle child of two hardworking, loving, Haitian immigrants. Let’s just say that I was the child that always stepped outside of the boundaries given to me. At 16 I wanted to work and go to school. My father didn’t want me to get a job, but I got one anyway! lol At 18 I graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School and immediately wanted to enlist in the Navy. My parents again did not approve, but I did anyway. I have graduated nursing school. I have worked in pediatrics. I have other small ventures I am currently working on. All of this to say, I have always stepped outside of the box. If someone asks me right now, what do I do? I would say everything. I met my amazing husband Shaun while enlisted. We have traveled a lot over the years from Virginia to San Diego, Florida, and now we are happily raising our three beautiful children here. As for Shaun, I’ll let him speak for himself.

Shaun
Hi! I am from Chicago, IL. Go Bears!! My mother passed away when I was six years old, so my dad raised me. He was my best friend, and I am proud to say he is the reason I am the man I am today. Unfortunately, he passed away years ago while I was enlisted. When I decided I did not want to renew my military term, I knew I needed a plan. So I went to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Now, I am a detective with many plans for the future.

I love that for years I could be home with our children and raise them. However, the independent person in me wouldn’t allow myself to be a stay at home mom exclusively. Although, I must say being a stay at home mom is definitely more than a full time job; shout out to all the Stay At Home Moms in the world. So I felt compelled to wake up everyday and find ways to build something special not only for myself but for my family, and that is how Deja Vu Mirror Photo Booth was born.

Has it been a smooth road?
It is never easy building something from the ground up, and I must say it has been interesting learning how to push pass challenges and obstacles. One of our very first events was an important one, which may be broadcasted lol. We only had 2 days to prepare for it, which is why we ran into so many challenges. However, we did what we could with what we had then. We stayed calm, and it all worked out at the end. This taught us to never give up and NEVER worry about who is watching because at the end of the day every moment becomes a lesson. It is up to you to decide what to do next: give up or Do Better! We always strive to grow and increase our knowledge to be better. Some of the biggest challenges that we have faced are building clientele and staying up to par with marketing and networking, which plays a major part in the growth of the business. Many people often say it is the first time they are seeing the mirror and they are not familiar with the process. Once they experience the mirror, they understand its worth. It is like magic, and the joy and excitement on their face truly makes it all worth it.
