Today we’d like to introduce you to Wil / Wilfred Prevost.
Hi Wil / Wilfred, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started making music in my room about 6 years ago and have been improving my sound and quality since then. Growing up in the metro Atlanta area my whole life, I couldn’t help but be drawn to music and creativity of all structures. Recently i started to release my music and post on social media consistently. Within 4 months I’ve grown to 1400 followers and 60,000 views. Releasing 2 songs since March, Much more music is planned and set to be released.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not, in October of 2024 I was in the worst state of mental health of my whole life. No career, No drive, and no outlook. Shortly after i received some new music equipment for my birthday in early November and quickly got back the drive and love that I always have had for music. It was by far the best music I’ve ever made and i knew i had to release and market my music for real.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an artist, engineer, and producer. I’ve made music in my room for going on 6 years now. I started with production and making beats, but i slowly found that making songs and vocals is what I love. Learning the mixing and mastering side of music has been my favorite journey so far, getting the mix right and making your music sound how you want without having to send it off and pay for a sound is one of the best things you can have. What sets me apart is my musical sound, I don’t sound like anyone in the rap / hip=hop game right now and I have a distinguished image.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I record, engineer, mix, and master everything that has to do with the music. I taught myself over several years how to use plugins and make the music sound how you want it to.
