Meet Wildlyfe 1Hunnud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wildlyfe 1Hunnud.

Hi Wildlyfe 1Hunnud, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is “1Hunnud”. I’m a musical artist from East Atlanta Georgia, known for my creation of a genre called “Trap&b”. I rap/sing about the streets and love. Coming from East Atlanta I faced a lot. Being raised by a single mother, me being the only man I felt I had to become a “man” a lot faster. This mindset encouraged me to get in the streets. I was locked up four months after my high school graduation for robbery. Dekalb county jail is where I realized I wanted to take my music serious. I would sing every night and beat on the walls by request of the other inmates. This helped me understand my voice and a lot more. I was also given my name “1Hunnud” in jail. I was named after how everyone looked at me. I always kept it real. After getting released, I hit the ground running. Since I’ve been on every mainstream radio station in Atlanta, I’ve done mainstream movie soundtracks such as “River Runs Red” starring George Lopez and John Cusack.. I’ve done songs with, Derez Deshon, Johnny Cinco, Snootie Wild and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an Independent in the music industry is never a smooth road. There will be lots of obstacles because your independence in this game is never looked at as “the thing to do”. Being in this game for over 10 years I’ve been through bad contracts and even had money and opportunities stolen from me because I did not know any better.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My genre of music is called “Trap&B”. Which is a genre that I have created and mastered. “Trap&B” is a mix of the traditional “Trap Rap” sound with an R&B feel. I speak to the streets, but in a way that women. Can understand and relate… I specialize in “Chorus/Hook” creation. The “Chorus” is the body of the song. It is the part of the song that is played over and over 2 or 3 times on one record. The “Chorus” is said to be the most important component of an actual composition. I am most proud of my ability to stay independent for so long. Also still being able to acquire movie placements and a solid fanbase alone. Shat sets me apart from others is simply “Me”. My creations in a new genre and my musical creations in general. I believe I have my own lane.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My favorite apps right now are all of the social media platforms that I have. These are my outlets. Social media has made it much easier to get in touch with your true fans and actually coordinate your own business.
