Meet William Harrison of Kittentanz Cattery in North Cherokee County

Today we’d like to introduce you to William Harrison.

Thanks for sharing your story with us William. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Michelle, my wife, started Kittentanz Cattery when she was 13 years old! She was one of the people responsible for moving the “cat shows” from school auditoriums to large convention venues of today. When we were married we continued to raise kittens together and we lived in Grant Park. At that time, Kittentanz was just a hobby business…

When we became parents of twins, however, Michelle used the cattery to help replace her income while she stayed home to wrangle the kids. Well Kittentanz took off! We realized that people wanted happy, healthy and friendly kittens for their families and we were happy to raise them!

When there became a need for another full-time person. I applied for the job, and came home to work for Kittentanz, leaving a job with the State of Ga. Health and Human Resources’ IT staff. I now talk to our customers and do all the photography and website work!

Kittentanz is now nationally known for having the best kittens! We raise Siamese and Tonkinese kittens and have Balinese occasionally. We pride ourselves on the health and temperament of our kittens and strive to have our customers to have a great pet experience with our kittens.

We have a small suburban farm where we have a dedicated facility for our cattery, We also have horses and a busy house with twin seventeen year olds! Kittentanz has grown over the years from a small hobby to a family business and we love to help our customers find their perfect kitten!

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been easy, It sometimes is difficult to overcome the idea that we are a place that will show up on “Animal Planet.” We are inspected every year by the State of GA and we are fully licensed as a pet dealer.

Have a close business relationship with a USDA certified Vet – Dr. Craig Chester.

In short, we are a real business with real business responsibilities and we take that seriously. There are a lot of people who are “cat lovers” in this business, and we love them too. But, we take the time to make sure that the kittens are the best they can be!

Raising pet animals is a very politically sensitive business and we strive to make sure we ethically, and responsibly, raise our kittens for our customers who trust us with their soon-to-be pets!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kittentanz Cattery – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a cattery in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in breeding traditional Siamese kittens, otherwise known as “Applehead” Siamese kittens, and traditional Tonkinese kittens. Besides traditional Siamese kittens, and Tonkinese kittens, we often have Balinese and Exotic kittens.

Owned and operated by Bill and Michelle Harrison, we are registered with CFA, and CCR and also, we are registered with the Georgia Agriculture Commission as a licensed pet dealer. Together we have over thirty three years’ experience raising and selling kittens.

We strive to raise happy, healthy Siamese kittens for our customers. We provide a 100% health Guarantee on our kittens. We also neuter and spay ALL of our kittens before they go to a new home. Our customers and our kittens make us different. We have thousands of happy customers with happy cats!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Atlanta and the area because there is so much to do. We live close to the mountains and we are close to three major lakes. We can tube, horseback ride, water ski and see a Broadway show all in one day. (We really have!) Atlanta and North Georgia is terrific for food and fun… and we have the best of all worlds, a family farm with a major city for us to have fun in!

The traffic is the worst! It is like the weather. You can only predict it so well and it always has to be planned for…

The other thing is the heat sometimes… Hot’Lanta is our name for a reason ya’ know!
