Meet Woodstock Graphic Designer: Isaac Apon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Apon.

Isaac, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well long story short, I decided in the ninth grade that I was going to study Graphic Design in college. I had realized that the Lord had gifted me with a talent and I began to work and practice after that. Several years later we end up here. Lots of ups and downs – and most importantly; lots of lessons learned. One of the biggest lessons was to just try. You’ll never become great at anything if you don’t exert the effort

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, it’s been smooth. I think the biggest obstacles along the way have not been people around me, but myself. I can easily tell myself, “you can’t do that,” or “that won’t look good.” If you believe those lies, you won’t get anywhere. So I’ve had to overcome the doubt in myself that I have had.

Do you feel luck has played a role in your life?
I’ve never been one to believe in luck. I do, however, believe in the art of hard work and seeing the fruit from that. I’ve found that when you’re faithful with the gifts and talents God has given you, He will reward and bless you in due time.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Probably hustle. And that breaks down into many areas. I’m constantly working hard no matter what the project is. I’m also striving to get better at the things that I do. There will always be someone trying to “take your job” in a sense. So I try to be the first one up and be the first one getting to the grind.

Tell us about your favorite and least favorites things about our city.
I love that there are so many different people that have met in one place to do life. It’s robust with creativity and ingenuity – very motivating. And I dislike the traffic.

Pricing:

  • Typically based off the worth of the project, not necessarily how much time was put into the process.
  • Your client isn’t paying you for your say, ’24 hrs of work,’ they’re paying for your years of experience and expertise that have led up to this point.
