Meet Xavier Williams of Food for Tudez in Decatur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Williams.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started Foodfortudez after losing my job as a line cook at a senior citizen resort. I talked about quitting or working part-time to start my own business anyway but I guess the universe got tired of me talking and decided to get me out of there ASAP! When I first started Foodfortudez, I was stopping into every barbershop, salon, etc. (even putting menus in people mailboxes). Until people started to buy!! I struggled a lot with being consistent in my business, but now, I am the chef at The Artist Kafé at DWS studio, slowly trying to build my clientele up and perfect my craft.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I struggled a lot with just having self-discipline. If I didn’t feel like working, I wouldn’t and I would always be out of town. I had to start putting my business first if I really wanted all the things I talked about.

Please tell us about Food for Tudez.
I am a Le Cordon Bleu graduate that specializes in various French Cuisine, as well as Southern and I intend to provide excellent service, food, and possibly a couple laughs and smiles in the process. Tudez is short for attitudes and I believe food, my food, can greatly affect you mentally, physically even sexually. I’m most known for my Alfredo Style Tacos and my 4-Cheese macaroni as well as my creativity. I’m different because I’m not just selling food, I’m selling the whole experience, you’re not leaving me without a smile and a little motivation!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would’ve had more of a student mentality and just networked with more people.
