Let’s get right into it my name is Yvette Brown I’m a single mother of two daughters, born and raised in Buffalo, NY. Facing life challenges from being a single mother at the age of nineteen. I was raised by my mother who is a recovering drug addict, who has 25 plus years sobriety.
Yvette worked for the Buffalo Board Of Education working with children with special needs. In 2015, Yvette relocated to Atlanta GA, where she volunteered at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital where she later became employed. Fourteen years later, she finds herself pregnant by herself with her second child, feeling ashamed, betrayal, and discourage. When all odds were against her, she wrote and took her sorrow, pain, failures and made victory of her name. Becoming a self-published Author, Yvette Brown wrote a book titled “Pregnant By Myself”. The book discovers the inner power within a determined mother that lost her way but kept her faith, she shares how she gave birth to everything that tried to destroy her! Yvette’s goal is to be an advocate helping woman find resources to get out of poverty mentally.

What sets me aside from others? I can honestly say I know who I am, I gathered the courage to speak out about the challenges of mothers being left while pregnant for whatever reason. The strength you have to have mentally is non-explainable. We oftentimes let guilt or shame stop us from being bold, I decided to write through the pain and hopefully encourage someone else through!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Wow, the next 5-10 years, I see an increase, I see us coming together as a nation uplifting and healing one another. I have a passion for people in general so I would love to go to schools to speak life into the children and give them the guidance they will need in decision making because it is vital. My main focus is to be another example of how you don’t have to be in bondage if you set your mind free!
