Today we’d like to introduce you to Zerrick Williams.
Zerrick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born a twin in the small town of Eatonton, GA. (Home of Alice Walker/The Color Purple). Growing up, I always knew I wanted to entertain and my 1st love was singing. I would go before my family and say hey listen to this and watch the reactions. I would later start an RnB singing group and pursue deals however that was short-lived after a tragic death of one of the members (R. I.P/Casey Reid jr)
I then moved to Atlanta to attend college at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where I received my degree in M.E.M music entertainment & management. I worked in the industry while trying to pursue my dreams but was never satisfied, so I begin looking into theater work because it would allow me to sing and give an opportunity to get involved with another God-given talent, acting. I was blessed to grace many stages across the nation alongside Keith Sweat, Q-Parker of 112, Dottie Peoples, and many others.
Acting was becoming my passion and so I took a step further and started searching online for castings, whether it was a short, student, or independent film because I ultimately wanted to submit to an agency. In 2013 I did just that which propelled my career as an even much so. Having an agent not only got me in front of casting directors, producers, executives I would have never gotten in front of but also allowed me the opportunity to book major TV episodic’s (The Outsider and Atlanta) and my first Warner Bros/New Line Cinema movie “Game Night.” I’m truly grateful for my journey.
Has it been a smooth road?
I believe the greatest most influential people on this earth have all experienced some type of struggle/challenges in life in order to achieve their success. If things come easy, it’s oftentimes taken for granted. I’ve definitely had my share of a roller coaster of life from death of family and friends to financial difficulties to rejection on auditions and almost giving up but through it all that still soft voice in my heart and head have always encouraged me to keep going and reminded me to never give up.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I absolutely believe that Atlanta is the most influential state in the nation right now. We have everything thing you need for example, land at affordable prices. There diverse sets of people here so your business can appeal to a wide variety of people; I believe currently Atlanta is The music industry capital right. We can improve on accommodations for all of the newcomers by expanding highways and extending Marta routes.
