Rising Stars: Meet Acacia Turner of Mableton, Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Acacia Turner.

Hi Acacia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started as a dancer. I have been training in numerous styles including ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip hop since I was three years old, and growing up in competitive dance naturally introduced me to the world of makeup and lashes. Long hours of competition prep, stage looks, and beauty routines sparked something in me early on. I would come home from rehearsals and keep playing in makeup, experimenting with creative looks on myself just because it felt exciting.

When COVID slowed everything down, dance slowed as well. This gave me the space to really develop my passion in other areas. I practiced on anyone who would let me—friends, my mom, cousins—and that time allowed me to refine my technique and grow confident in my artistry. I launched my makeup page in summer 2020, my lash page in winter 2021, and eventually brought everything together under Acacias Cosmetics in 2023.

By fall 2024, I also started diving deeper into the importance of the body and overall wellness. I became really interested in how many healing benefits come straight from what God created for us—things that grow from the ground and support us naturally. That curiosity pushed me to partner with a manufacturer, and I officially launched my Acacia’s Commodities in November 2024.

Today, I am pursuing my BFA in Dance at George Mason University, performing as a ballerina and dancer for special events, and managing Acacias Cosmetics and Acacia’s Commodities. Through it all, my mission stays the same: tailoring every service to the individual and providing quality work in every room I step into.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Before college, everything flowed—dance, clients, business growth. When I moved to Virginia, everything shifted. My dance career flourished because it became my major, but my business had to start from ground zero in a state where I did not know anyone. I went from seeing 5–6 clients a week to maybe 2 a month, which was incredibly discouraging.

Still, I stayed consistent. I prayed, passed out business cards, hung posters all over campus, and kept going even when it felt like nothing was shifting. After a few months, God blessed me with recurring clients again. Rebuilding taught me so much about marketing, persistence, and what it really takes to grow a business—especially while juggling one of the busiest majors and dancing from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. some days.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am also a professional dancer, performing at weddings, shows, and special events. I am also a lash technician and makeup artist who specializes in bringing my clients’ visions to life. I custom-create every lash set and makeup look based on the client’s features, style, and event they’re preparing for.

Along with my artistry, I also run a holistic wellness business that focuses on clean, organized living and overall well-being. I offer “clean” home-care products, vitamins and supplements, cosmetics, and sports nutrition that support a healthier lifestyle from the inside out.

What I am most proud of is the care and intention I put into everything I do. What sets me apart is my ability to blend artistry, precision, and my dance background with a holistic approach to wellness to create a truly thoughtful and desirable experience for my clients.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can reach out to collaborate or work with me through email or social media, and they can support me by booking any of my services—whether it’s performing, lashes, or makeup. If they’re interested in health or wellness, they can also connect with me to set up a time to talk through their goals so I can help guide them toward the best options for their body and lifestyle.
