Rising Stars: Meet Adrian Morris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Morris.

Hi Adrian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m from New Orleans born and raised there. I been homeless, poor, abused, and everything as a child so it helps me relate to my audience thru my content. I have one daughter and two sons, which I love and do all this for. I love hiphop and alternative, so I was like that’s what I want my music to reflect and I went with it and made this new sound of mine. I’m from Algiers the fisher projects In new Orleans plus lower Algiers the cutoff. There is nothing no one can tell me about what goes on in the slumps….. I am and from the slumps trapping music out of it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Obstacles I have to get over I could retain knowledge as a kid, and I couldn’t get out of kindergarten for two years. I taught myself to read and everything and I got skipped later on. I went to prison for six years for robbery and I got released in 2019 of July but now I’m popping in my wave to money. I don’t know who my dad was and it bother me until I was 12 and had sex and was like I could be a dad. Shit, I got a lot but my biggest achievement out of all these struggles is I found God.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love writing music and I recently got inspired to write and to pursue this because I watched drake take an award for artist of the decade, and it inspired me. Now I have made a wave with my new single “Big Wave”. Other than that, it’s to the moon out of the slumps.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I learned that people will use you consciously or not consciously to help their instant gratification. It’s up to me to allow God to put the right people around or I’ll be alone.
