Today we’d like to introduce you to Alantria Dixon.
Alantria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story really begins when my family moved to South Fulton when I was five years old. Growing up there shaped everything about who I am today. I was blessed to attend the International Studies Magnet program at Riverwood High School, which opened my eyes to different cultures and ways of thinking. Those early experiences, along with opportunities like Girl Scouts, cheerleading, and INROADS, helped me become the well-rounded person I am today.
My professional journey began in corporate America, where I led multi-million-dollar marketing and business growth initiatives at global companies like Procter & Gamble, UPS, and The Weather Channel. These experiences sharpened my business acumen and deepened my commitment to excellence and innovation.
But there came a moment when I needed to align my work with purpose. My move to the nonprofit sector was intentional — I wanted to expand my leadership scope and give back to the organizations that had shaped my early life.
Today I serve as Senior Director of Mission Revenue at Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, where I lead more than $19 million in revenue, including the iconic Girl Scout Cookie Program — the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world. I get to develop strategies that not only drive revenue but also change how girls see themselves as leaders and entrepreneurs.
Beyond my professional work, I stay connected through my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and Leadership Buckhead. For fun, I enjoy traveling and baking — both allow me to explore new things and embrace my creative side. And of course, spending cherished time with family, including my husband and young daughter, who remind me every day why this work matters.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been without its challenges. As a woman navigating both corporate and nonprofit leadership spaces, I’ve often had to prove my value in rooms where I was the “only.” There were moments when I questioned whether I had to shrink to fit traditional models of leadership — but I learned to lead authentically, not despite my identity, but because of it.
Another challenge was transitioning from goals-focused corporate roles to mission-driven nonprofit work. It required me to rethink how I defined success, to lead teams with both compassion and vision, and to build systems in environments where resources are limited but the potential is unlimited.
But perhaps one of the most defining personal challenges was navigating the IVF process during the pandemic, all while caring for my aging father. That season taught me more about empathy, patience, and endurance than any professional experience ever could. Balancing work, caregiving, and a deeply personal health journey reshaped the way I lead — with greater empathy, deeper humanity, and a recognition that people often carry unseen burdens.
Realizing my dream of becoming a mother while leading a demanding career also forced me to reevaluate what truly matters to me. This journey has taught me that leadership isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being present. And it has taught me that legacy is built not just in conference rooms, but in the lives we touch every day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work spans revenue generation, strategy, operations and marketing, and I thrive on solving complex challenges through data-driven insights and innovative thinking.
As Senior Director, Mission Revenue at Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, I lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on operational excellence, revenue growth, and strategic planning. I oversee a $19 million annual revenue portfolio and spearhead efforts to diversify revenue streams, enhance stakeholder engagement, and amplify brand impact.
One of my proudest accomplishments is leading one of the nation’s largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world – the iconic Girl Scout Cookie Program, supporting thousands of girls in learning critical life and business skills. I’ve also guided teams through organizational change, built strategic plans, and mentored emerging leaders — especially women of color — to find their voice and their seat at the table.
Through all this work, I am passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and empowerment—helping teams and organizations realize their highest potential.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine technical problem-solving with visionary leadership to drive sustainable organizational success. I bring the discipline of corporate strategy and the empathy of a community-centered leader. My superpower? Helping organizations see what’s possible and then building the roadmap to get there.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the next step.
I’m a firm believer in seasons — and giving yourself permission to grow, to pivot, and to rise. Leadership isn’t about having all the answers from the start—it’s about leaning into your strengths, following your passion, and allowing purpose to guide you.
My story is still unfolding, and I’m excited about what’s next. I plan to continue doing work that aligns purpose with performance, while creating space for others to rise alongside me.
To every woman — especially women of color — who is navigating motherhood, leadership, and reinvention: your story matters. Own it. Share it. And never stop building the future you deserve.
