Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Cooper.
Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My life as a parent started at 18. I just knew I had to fight to give my child the world. I started like any other person working a 9 to 5 but I quickly realized it was not for me. I attended post-secondary education I went to school for biomedical sciences. I know a far stretch from a 9 to 5 student in school to an entrepreneur of multiple businesses…
I knew what my old life offered, so I decided to see what a knew life would feel like. I have worked a job for no more than a year before moving to another. I found no passion or fulfillment no progression working for others. Just routine and mundane. I started preforming a perfecting hobbies I developed including makeup artistry, selling and styling hair, which turned into my first side business. This is when my was luck changed. You know the saying, your kids end up saving you? my child hair it was very finicky. There were no products on the market that I could try that had lasting effects and improving effects for my child’s hair. Being the problem solver I am I took this as a personal challenge I decided to create what I did not have. This lead to an idea for improvement and creating my baby Glammhouse (trademark pending). My hair Care line currently consists of a hair growth serum, tinted and hydrated rosewater, growing glitter gels, glam gloss, lip scrubs, shampoo (glampoo), and leave-in-conditioner (leave-in-Glamm). And the best part about all of our hair care and skin care products or 100% natural. This led to me opening other businesses when I actually saw this is something I can do. Now I have a clothing boutique, daycare, and service clients, model/act, and inspire. Definitely ready for the world, not sure if it’s ready for me yet.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, things weren’t smooth and easy if it were everyone would be doing the same things. The biggest obstacle I had to get over was just doing whatever I thought about. Setting time aside that you normally have scheduled or planned out it’s really humbling. That is the huge struggle because in that is the transition from everyday routine to uncertainty. And I want to get this out a lot of people a lot of us cause I was one of them are afraid of uncertainty however a certainty is the best part of life because humans are only certain of things they know the uncertainty is other dimensional and is the only thing that can truly change your life. Bringing your thoughts imagination and dreams into reality that’s what makes them so special and that’s why when you follow your dreams magic happens. Because you are allowing yourself sharing yourself with the world and ways they’ve never experienced and it’s truly captivating. Of course, being a mom posed its own challenges juggling your personal life your child’s personal life and your business professional life. It becomes to be a lot but over time you masturbate and it becomes your every day. Another huge obstacle I want others to take it to is isolating yourself that is necessary unless you have a business partner or a family member or someone who is on the same level same as that same wave same motivation you want progress. And I’m glad to have an understanding of that now so I don’t gain and then lose so easily.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So my business is I am focusing on right now and creating brand awareness for would be my hair Care line and clothing. I design my own clothes I’m a seamstress I started out altering my own clothes because I’ve always been smaller in stature so my clothes would fit perfectly in one area and then too big in most areas or my waist so I found myself altering a lot of my clothes because I spent a lot of money alterations and that led to me just creating my own clothes creating my own style. I’m also working on new formulas for when my hair care products hit the market. I would say my specialty is standing out I’ve always been creative up always been someone that goes against the crowd because I’ve always understood a crowd is equivalent to a herd of sheep if you don’t know what that analogy means it just simply means the masses normally does not follow the correct or right thing or the most beneficial thing. So I knew to find success where others weren’t looking and I’ve been like that since a kid.
Maintaining healthy hair is one of my dearest hobbies because it originated in house. Starting to take better care of my inside aluminate it on the outside. As I start to improve with my hair as my skin start to improve as my whole aura improved this is what I actually got the attention of people because of my products. The compliments I get now I attribute hugely to my business and my products because my hair has even changed my skin glows and this simply comes from investing time into myself and it shows. Learning your hair’s strengths and weaknesses so that it flushes is one of the things I love to do. Understanding your hair is your crown many people don’t understand the effects that healthy hair or adversely unhealthy air affects one’s well-being life and just overall filling up themselves because it’s generally the first thing you see when you see an individual arm you know is the hair it does so many things it protects us from the sun and the hair shield says from the winter covers ice in the winter is a biblical reference of how important are heroes and when we realize it will understand why we should take care of it.
I’m also known for starting makeup videos and tutorials I enjoy doing that the most and I was surprisingly good at it from the very beginning not to say I was perfect on my first try, but a lot of things hour I was able to execute without much effort. But more recently I’ve been recognized for my clothing and how unique my style is. One thing I’m most proud of is venturing off to other facets like acting and modeling in the year 2021 had the opportunity to film The TV show though it wasn’t a big role it meant the world to me because that was enough confirmation for me to know anything I put my mind to I can do it. Modeling is one of those things I have on my to-do list because I know I know I can kill Modeling it’s like second nature and when I am out in Public or I’m just passing through I always get looks like at stairs I get smiles like a conversation I do attract people and I want to be a light for others. I believe what sets me apart is my detachment from Worldly limitations. I juggle so many hats I do so many things I help so many people and it’s all been on me and I feel There’s nothing I can’t do. What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Trust is absolutely the number one quality for any business not only just my business. I quickly realize if a potential customer or client gets a hint of dishonesty your business will not last. You need to do right by your customers and just people in general because you want to be able to look yourself in the mirror every day do you wanna know that your business can’t continue and go on every day so that’s why it’s important you lay a solid ground foundation with customers so that whatever you build does not fall
